“Beautiful view of the lake and friendly staff.”
Reviewed 23 June 2013

Central placed hotel for seeing all resorts on the lake with lovely gardens and a well kept pool.

A spotless clean hotel with a standard breakfast and perfect views of the lake but in need of air conditioning our room was stifling hot which made it difficult to sleep. Also, the bathroom could do with updating as the shower was in the bath which wouldn't suit anyone who had difficulty with getting in and out of the bath.

If you're looking to have a nightcap or a quick bite to eat after being out for the evening there is hardly any service in the hotel after 11.30 pm but on saying this it is a very quiet hotel in a peaceful location.

My wife and I came to the area for a friends wedding, we stayed 4 nights. We had a nice time. It is a relaxing, quiet place. Staff were accommodating and friendly (volunteering useful information on things like passenger ferry pick up points and free maps on area when we enquired etc).

Our room was near the pool and a 1 min walk from main building where breakfast is served etc. Room was very large, well appointed with a big bathroom, quality furniture and fittings etc but did not have aircon (some do, some don't so if your going at height of summer / you simply want a room with aircon enquire at booking). Room did have fan though which was good to keep the air moving.

It is a relaxing, family run place, so if you want the Hilton/Holiday Inn experience where every room is the same (which one might for business) this place might not be for you. If you want somewhere a short walk from the water front but far enough for some peace and quiet and to relax in the pool overlooking the hills you will love it.

Ferries are much closer than google maps shows too (as only car ferries are on google maps). The foot passenger ferry stops much closer - about 10 mins from hotel.

The pool is really nice, with loungers placed around it (not too close).

Staff speak good English (not all but there is usually someone around who does)

Breakfast is cereals, yoghurts, , cheese, ham, boiled eggs and pastries with tea & coffee etc. They also do simple but nice food at other times (pizzas, salads etc). They also have bar which is reasonably priced. Its a quiet place so they like to keep noise levels low after 9-10ish.

Parking is plentiful and free at the hotel and you can easily walk into town from the hotel to find restaurants (note in the tourist season parking on the front is hard to find / near impossible).

The hotel is up a hill (anywhere not on the road will be) which we had no issue with but if your not good with hills keep this in mind.

There is no gym (not that this bothered us, as there are plenty of quiet roads to run on plus the hotel has a pool and you you can swim in the lake).

Hotel does have (free) internet

Our Tips:
Take your swimming trunks (nice pool + you have the lake)

Take your tennis racket (has a court which was unused all the time we were there)

There is a really nice restaurant with a wood pizza oven etc a 5 minute walk out the back of the hotel (ask the hotel for directions).

Get the 15Euro day trip ticket for the boat we went to Bellagio and Varrenna etc and it makes hopping on and off boats easy and cheap.

Visit the gardens at the Villa Carlotta (lovely shaded gardens)

Ask hotel reception for the boat times and foot passenger terminals (no need to trek to Cadenabbria)

Room Tip: Not all rooms have aircon, if this is something you require confirm before booking (some rooms have...

My wife & I chose this hotel as our base for my best friends wedding. We stayed in an apartment overlooking the swimming pool, our room was very, very comfortable, the ease of access from the main road and parking on site made it so easy. The people who own the Edy are so helpful and friendly.
We have already started to make arrangements to return in September.

We drove to Tremezzo after flying in to Milan. Lots of traffic on those narrow highways on both sides of Lake Como but Tremezzo is nicely situated. We had lovely views of the mountains and the lake from our room at Villa Edy. The public spaces, especially the spacious front porch, are inviting. The staff was very accommodating. The room and bath were more than adequate for our needs - just a stopover, unfortunately. We had a nice sofa and a desk. The bathrooms can always use more counter space for spreading out one's belongings, but this one was clean and modern. Our room had a small balcony for enjoying the aforementioned views. Convenient for us to drive to the ferry and we really enjoyed Villa Carlotta's gardens, just a ways up the road. Breakfast was plentiful and good.

Staff was very helpful, offered to pick us up at the bus. Beautiful location and views a few minutes from Lake Como. Room clean and reasonable size but could hear the neighbours. Breakfast just OK. Overall good value.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the hotel villa edy. The setting is stunning with views of the lake and mountains that can be enjoyed from your balcony or the pool. The room and breakfast are good and best of all is the service from the charming mother/daughter owners. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Villa Edy is conveniently located to explore Lago Di Como. It is also ideal as in Tremezzo gets plenty of sun as well. The hotel greatest strength is the family that the runs the hotel who are friendly, service oriented and give the hotel it's character. If you stay there, make sure you have some wine and exploit Roberto's knowledge of the best Italian red wines.
