This really is a wonderful find, tucked in the hills behind the lovely village of Tremezzo. Delightful, welcoming hosts, immaculate rooms, views of the lake are the icing on the cake. Highly recommend!

Fantastic hotel. As said in the other reviews, the sisters and their husbands can't do enough for you. The views from the terrace are simply sensational - a fantastic place to take breakfast. The rooms and hotel are spotless and the pool area (although small) is a great place to spend a few hours. Dinner is served over a short period 6 days a week and is fairly limited in choice. But in saying that, it's not really a restaurant so we only eat there a couple of times. The shuttle bus (or your own car) is essential if you are anything other than a mountain goat as it's about a kilometre almost straight up from the main road in Tremezzo. In saying that, it was 33+ degrees every day we were there so not really ideal for walking even on the flat!!

Taking the shuttle down in the evening (6pm) lets you have a stroll round Tremezzo and there are plenty of places to eat there but beware the taxis to get you back are unmetered and they charge 15 euros!!

Overall, an absolute gem of a hotel.

Room Tip: Lake view is absolutely essential (and simply stunning)

Stayed for 4 days in July 2014 and really enjoyed the stay. La Perla is a family run guest house where you really feel part of the family, immaculate attention to detail, fantastic service with the biggest smiles, comfortable rooms and great recommendations for day trips all made la perla a great choice. Views are great over the lake. The walk up was fine, it's the only exercise we got but felt great after as there was a fair few pizzas to walk off! Go to the pizza restaurant halfway down the hill. Amazing. Best pizza we had in 3 weeks in italy! Sergio was a fantastic host, we were picked up on arrival, given some bubbly as it was our honeymoon (personal touch)
A very chatty friendly and with the help of his wife who had an infectious charming personality, the hotel really did good!

breakfast was great, continental served on the balcony. Tried a couple of pasta dishes spaghetti and lasagne but wasn't that impressed as they were a little dry and wasn't really the authentic italian cuisine experience we were after so didn't really eat there again. Sorry but wouldn't be a full review without the -ves!

The only other one was that we were informed the wrong pier for our last day and missed out como connection and arrived in venice a few hrs later than planned. The timetable says the first fast ferry went from Carlotta when it was tremezzo. One to note! Apart from that the whole stay was amazing.

We will definitely be recommending La Perla to friends

It is not often you are so genuinely welcomed by the staff. Both sisters who run this place are very helpful and take the time to make the stay the best possible. We had room 209 a bit small but a quiet corner room with a small balcony with the spectacular view that the hotel is famous for. Breakfast is until 10 but don't worry it is possible to stretch it to 10.30 if asked. Next time we visit Tremezzo this is the place to be, even though it is a long walk (15-20 min but try to walk the nice "shortcuts") from the main road, but hey that means you can enjoy an extra drink or dessert on this Beautiful terrace without feeling guilty :)
