This is a truly lovely hotel run by a family who are proud of their business and go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and at home. The gardens and the view from the pool were amazing and quite a surprise. My room was spacious and the bathroom very clean indeed. Very close to all the ferries etc to get to you beautiful places such as Bellagio and Varenne. I dined once at the hotel and the food was very nice and the service discreet.
The views at breakfast time were amazing.
All along the west side of Lake Como it would appear that the hotel line and then the road and then the lake are all quite narrow so there is some traffic noise. Quite a poor offering of local restaurants in this area.

Imagine a morning when few arrays of sun come into the room …. You get up, open the window shades and you see … a magnificent view of lake Como. The room tells you that this is Italy at its best with this old renovated furniture.
You have breakfast with the same view … excellent espresso, some bread, yoghurt, fruit, orange juice and … a nice “buongiorno” of the staff who serves you the first meal of the day.
After you have been wondering around in Como and around the lake, you can relax in a small swimming pool. In the evening you can go to one of the restaurants nearby. If you want to have dinner in the villa, you need to reserve before 14:00, which is not very convenient.
That is Villa Mirabella: is a very nice place in a relaxing atmosphere with good friendly service without the stiffness of a ****star place but the friendliness of a ***family-run hotel.

Room Tip: If you can afford, take the lake-side suite ... but do not book it when I want to go back there!

We stayed here for 3 nights. Two nights in the Mirabella suite and one night in a lake view room. The Mirabella suite was beautiful, with original, restored pieces of furniture from the villa. The room had two sets of French doors that open to a small balcony and a wonderful lake view. The room was large and I highly recommend it, as it is huge, by European standards. This room connects to a small lake view room and could be perfect for a family. The bathroom was large, with a window. The shower was the only weak point, as it is a small, prefabricated unit that I believe they may have in all the rooms. It was satisfactory, but not wonderful. The lake view room was an average size by European standards and also had a wonderful view of the lake. Breakfast was a standard Italian breakfast and was served with a smile in a big, sunny breakfast room with a view of the lake and the smell of lavender from the garden. The pool was in a nice garden and had a good view. It was very welcome at the end of a hot day. The air-conditioning was not great. We could never really got the rooms comfortable. Something to keep in mind for a summer visit. The Galli family could not have been more lovely or more helpful- particularly Paolo, who was so kind as to make dinner reservations for us and arranged for our transportation to the Milan airport. He was wonderful!

I hesitate to leave a review because I want to keep this place a secret, it is so lovely!

We enjoyed 3 wonderful nights here, in a beautiful room w. balcony , overlooking the lake , with a spectacular view or Bellagio. The fantastic gardens of Villa Carlotta in Tremezzo are a 5 minute walk away. Convenient underground private parking for guests. Catch the ferry across the lake to visit Bellagio, Varenna and neighboring Menaggio.

Our host, Paolo Galli, his brother and parents were wonderful hosts. Our breakfasts were copious and the dinner at the hotel was delicious. Paolo's father cooked us some fabulous pasta and grilled a pork chop to perfection. Simple but delicious!

Villa La Mirabella is beautiful inside and out, with lush gardens surrounding the mansion, a nice pool to cool off in and a lovely front terrace plus lounge area outside under the arches.
We felt so welcome here , very lucky to spend time here at this unique place and we hope to return someday.

Room Tip: Reserve well in advance. This place is not touristy, feels like home.

Good location at the lake shore with excellent views to Bellagio and surrounding mountains. The albergo is small, with some atmosphere and nice lounge/sitting room. Small, well functioning pool above, with towels for rent. Pool hours 0930 am - 0630 pm makes early morning and late night swims no option, but then you can check the tiny public beach at Al Puunt towards Menaggio. Very convenient underground parking garage. Paolo, the host, is friendly, serviceminded and informative.

Got a nice double room with a very large terrace and lake view. Small bathroom with bath tub/shower but no curtain to avoid splashing water on the floor. At 3* hotels towels are only changed every three days. Therefore a facility for drying towels (including pool towels and swim suits) would be useful, to avoid decorating terrace/balcony. WiFi (free of charge) did not work in the room, hardly on the terrace, but works fine in the lounge.

We did not know that rooms were without a/c. Our sleeping quality was bad during the hot-period stay as the terrace door could not be open during night due to traffic noise from the busy road. A large, standing fan was available and for the second night the host provided one more, but the nights were uncomfortable.

Breakfast served with attendance in the nice breakfast room with lake view. Breakfast simple and spartaneous but quality OK.

Villa Carlotta has an impressive garden but Cadenabbia has not much to offer. A few bars and cosy outdoor restaurants along the shore. Minimarket 5 min walk from the hotel. Nearby Menaggio has a wider selection including a couple of supermarkets and delicatesse shops. Very close to the hotel you will find the car ferry to Bellagio and 5 min walk in the opposite direction (at Villa Carlotta) the smaller boats for Bellagio/Menaggio/Varenna and southbound to Lenno. We got “hop on/hop off” day tickets for 10 € each, highly recommended for short and refreshing boat trips across the lake.

All in all: Villa Mirabella is a decent base for exploring Lake Como, especially for elder couples prioritising a personal and attentive service. Varenna is still our choice.

We stayed in this hotel in late July and had a lovely time. Rather than gush randomly about everything, here are a few aspects of the place which seem relevant:

Rooms: we had a twin room but were able to combine beds so no worry there. The furniture was lovely, beds comfortable, we had a safe (use free of charge) and all the all- important air con!

Breakfast: this was included with a €5 surcharge for a hot breakfast, which seems reasonable for this area. The "sweet" Italian breakfast was lovely, with a if selection of breads as well as spreads (not that it matters for me as long as there's Nutella!), nice coffee, juice and a yoghurt, all served at the table. The breakfast room is an annex with a glass front with a great view of the lake, so a great place to sit!

Pool: there is a nice little private pool which is open during the day. As the hotel seems to only have 12 or so rooms, the small amount of people using it is quite a treat for lake como. The lake can also be seen from the pool, again amazing!

Service: this has been very personal and friendly. There are also not a million surcharges for everything other than the hot breakfast, which makes everything a little more relaxed in my opinion.

The wifi is free, quick enough for normal Internet and email use and there is reception in the rooms.

I would definitely recommend this as a place to stay! :)

This was without a dubt the most wonderful hotel I have ever stayed in. Me and my husband stayed in the suit La Mirabella and it was fantastic! The furnituring of the room contains of mostly old restored furniture from the 18th century, well balanced with the decorations of the room itself. It is clean and we slept very well. The room has soundproof windows and a balcony from which you overlook the lake and the village Bellagio. I highly recommend this room. The service and the breakfast was a delight.
The pool was very good, with a wonderful view and the garden surrounding the hotel is a good place to just sit down and relax, trying to take in all the beauty of the hotel and the area of Lake Como. It is just perfect, aspecially for couples without children.
It is like living in a fairytale when you stay at Villa La Mirabella.
You will not be dissapointed if you stay in this hotel!
