The hotel is in a wonderful spot and our Superior room with sea view was beautiful. We stayed in this hotel some years ago and decided to return.
But the food was awful. No servic, only buffet. Main dishes kept luke warm, the salad bar every evening the same and expecially the pasta kept warm (or cold)
We went at the end of the season and slowly but surely services shrank, first the pool barclosed for lunch ( with a little notice saying: pool var closed for your convenience!) then the they took away the matresses on the bathing platforms.
We won't go again because of the food. We expect to have proper, fresh Italian food served at the table

This is a superb hotel, ideally situated for the lovely village of Isola Rosso.
If you are looking for a luxurious hotel and a peaceful setting to relax in, look no further. Overlooking the Med and close to a lovely village which offers good food and drink, this is the ideal holiday to get away from the 'rat race'.
In addition to the superb location there are lovely beaches and good diving facilities close by.

Room Tip: Make sure you visit the Spa, well worth the money.

We really enjoyed this hotel but it did have a couple of negative points. We stayed for 3 nights at the end of August. I'd go back but would probably go self catering.

We were unlucky to get an old air con unit which was very noisy at night, so we had to make do without. Not the end of the world and a bit of luck involved there. I've marked Sleep Quality down because of this.

The other was that the hot food at dinner could be warm by the time you got it from the buffet. Probably expected by a large buffet type hotel Half Board deal but if like us you want to miss the rush, don't expect to be bowled over by dinner. The hotel does have a roof top restaurant where you are served but it was fully booked for all the nights we stayed.

Negatives aside, the quality of the hotel facilities are very high. The pool especially and the pool bar area are very nice, and the sun loungers available down the hillside are excellent.

The staff service is top class and would help you in any way possible.

A waiter served meal is all that would separate this hotel from being an "Excellent" one, but as a meal is a big part of the service I marked it down for Value on this point alone. Isola Rossa itself is within walking distance and is a nice little fishing village, lovely vibe in the place.

Room Tip: My tip here is to pre-book the roof top restaurant before you arrive, looked very nice. The rooms ar...

We have recently spent a week at this hotel with friends. We were a little disappointed by the food. Although the breakfast was good, the lunch offered very little choice and if you were not a pasta lover then there was just a very basic salad selection. The evening meal was ok but again just two pasta choices and a fish and a meat dish. We have stayed at far far better hotels with a wonderful selection of food, the Rui hotels particularly. The location was good but the nearby village offered just a few Restuarants which appeared to be just pizza or pasta, although it was end of season and nearly everything was closed. There were a few children staying at the hotel but very little facilities for them and no child specific food from what I could see. The rooms were very comfortable and very clean, towels were changed daily if you wanted. The swimming pool was seawater and very very cold !! but a lovely big pool and great location. We did not visit the beach as they had taken in the sunbeds etc. The staff were all very helpful and accommodating. The trip offered by Thomsons to Algherro and Castelrado was interesting but a bit rushed in the towns and a large amount off walking on cobbled paths and lots of stairs, one of our party really struggled with this so not good for those who have poor mobility. We wouldn't go back again as there are far better hotels about.

Room Tip: Quite a bit of walking to get to some of the rooms.

Great customer service from friendly and well-trained staff is the biggest selling point of this hotel, alongside really wonderful food and wine. The hotel is casual and the rooms do need a bit of attention but as we were out and about, this did not really affect us. The staff were extremely helpful, changing an unsuitable mattress twice until my joints were happy ! Self-service buffet meals at this end of the season were full of interesting and plentiful choices, The meats were very tender and the pastas freshly cooked while you wait. Huge choice of veg, salad and fruit and a lovely selection of naughty desserts and ice creams.
Great views from this hotel, little village very close, gorgeous coastline to explore. You need a car to get further afield as Isola Rossa is out on a limb. Sea water swimming pool was lovely but a bit too refreshing, could do with some warming up.
Overall a great stay and we will be coming back.

Room Tip: get an upstairs room for a balcony with view.

We stayed in the Hotel Relax Torreruja for the last four nights of our eight day holiday to northern Sardinia. Maybe we had been a little spoilt with our other hotels, or maybe it was because the weather changed and became very windy during our stay here, but we were a little disappointed when we arrived. On the positive side, the hotel has a beautiful, large swimming pool; lovely sun bathing platforms on the cliffs with beautiful views; is within easy walking distance of two beaches (one in the little town and the other a 10 min walk across a field, which makes for a very pleasant evening stroll – look for a gap in the hedge and keep to the higher path); and it offers a great breakfast and evening meal buffet (I sill daren't get on the weighing scales!) However, we were a bit disappointed with our room: we had booked one of the cheaper standard rooms and, whilst it was clean and adequate, it was rather dark and basic and looked out onto a little garden/patio area which could have done with a little sprucing up. We also felt the resort had more of a 'holiday camp' feel about it, rather than luxury spa retreat, but we still enjoyed our stay there. Isola Rossa itself is a very nice little port but it is a bit isolated. So, it's a great location if you are wanting to relax and get away from it all. However, if you are wanting to do a lot of sightseeing without driving long distances, then I think there are probably better places to be based. All in all, I think we would return here but probably only for a couple of nights next time.

My wife and I have not long returned from a week at this quiet relaxing hotel. We went with the purpose of just relaxing and unwinding and that is exactly what we did! Our holiday company, Sardatur, did us proud again. Flying chartered British Airways from terminal 5 and at a good time was one of the reasons for selecting Sardatur. Having used them last year for Hotel Flamingo in the south we decided to use them again for another location! This choice was to experience the north west of the island and because of the remotely located resort, Isola Rossa! The resort did not look very far from Olbia airport requiring an transfer from east to west of the island. We learnt that nothing in Sardinia goes in straight lines and the journey time was approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes! Fortunately, we were allocated a very comfortable Mercedes 7-seat minibus. The staff at Hotel Relax Torreruja were very friendly and we soon started to feel at home. The resort is set on differing levels with individual complexes and well landscaped. It took a little while to feel our way around but we felt quite at home the day after arrival. As for the rooms, very adequate and nicely but basically furnished. We had a safe, fridge bar, adequate storage and a nice bathroom/shower/toilet area. Air-con was good, unlike in the Flamingo which re-circulated, Hotel Relax actually cleaned the humidity from the air as well as cooling and could also provide some warmth if needed which we did as the temperature did drop on the latter part of the stay. The only complaint about this 4 star rated resort was the lack of tea and coffee making facilities in the room! You had to go to the Pool Bar or call room service if you wanted something to drink in the room other than bottled water. As always in most resorts, find a local supermarket for your water. Although not overly expensive at €1 Euro for a 330ml bottle from the mini-bar in the room, 2 litres for less the €2 Euro was better value. The restaurant served a very nice and varied buffet style menu and we were never disappointed with either the breakfast or dinner buffet (stayed half-board). There was the option to 'go on the roof' and eat al fresco with waiter service, a service provided on alternate nights Mon-Wed_Frid for an extra €10 Euro per person. We thoroughly enjoyed the offerings on the night we went, slightly breezy but the ladies were offered cashmere shawls for their shoulders, a nice thought indeed! Only downside, they had to give them back! I would recommend this experience but check the weather forecast and temperatures before booking! The pool was adequate but could be a bit sparse on room and for me, a little on the cold side. One benefit was that the Hotel provided a carrier bag and beach towels for the adults. We were told the sea was in fact warmer, however, when the time came to go to the beach, the weather had turned and the heavens opened up one afternoon and evening and after that the sea became too rough to enter and a strong 'Mistral' wind blew for two and a half days after that cooling the air! No fault of the resort, that Mistral has a lot to answer for! Once you had your bearings, the small village of Isola Rossa was easily approached just off the resort and you could comfortable walk through the village in 15-20 minutes. This was also the way to access the resorts 'private' beach area which is detached from the resort but just a few minutes walk. Very pretty and for us, nice and peaceful at the time we went. I often remarked at how quiet this place was! The resort also had a Spa and Treatment area which we visited on a couple of occasions, especially for the Spa pool on the days when the weather was a bit cool as the pool was partly heated if not tepid! The sauna came in quite useful and the only downside was paying €22 Euros each for the privilege of either a morning or afternoon session! The treatments were excellent, I had two full body massages, the latter being a special for arthritic condition, and my wife enjoyed some more pampering ones! Again, staff were very friendly and approachable. If I had anything negative to say, I think the location of toilet facilities could have been improved as far as the pool and pool bar area was concerned. You had to depart the pool for a short stroll and then traverse two flights of steps beside the reception area to get to the toilets. The only other 'public' toilets were at the rear entrance to the restaurant, again quite a walk if the restaurant was closed or back to your own accommodation! It would have been nice to have had facilities accessible from within reception without going outside which wasn't fun when the weather was inclement! There were a couple of occasions when we wanted drinks in reception but the bar was not open! One good point was the management of payment within the resort. They gave you a blank credit size card with your room number on it and then you 'charged' it with funds and paid for everything with that. As I found out, very important to keep hold of the receipts from each payment as on checking out I was told I owed for wine and water on the roof top dining night out however. I knew I had paid and was able to produce the receipt and prove it.

All-in-all a positive experience and very enjoyable but for those of you with walking difficulties, be aware, there are a few ups and downs and steps to negotiate, nothing is level for long!

Room Tip: Some rooms were near to the road and one or two people commented and were moved. Most noise from hot...
