We booked a week long holiday here based on the souped up brochure images, the flowery descriptions and the four star rating.
We were put in a shoe box of a room with some rickety looking bamboo furniture, a bargain basement air conditioning unit and some hideous wall painting.
The TV looked like it had been imported straight from 1983 with not one English language station. The hairdryer was hit and miss as was the water temperature, the walls were paper thin and unfortunately we had neighbours who enjoyed repeatedly slamming their doors at 1, 2 and 3 in the morning.
Food wise I've spent quite a lot of time in Italy and this although good was not spectacular. I was so looking forward to having a really good Italian coffee but unfortunately whatever they serve at breakfast isn't it....you could power a car with it or perhaps strip wallpaper but you couldn't drink the stuff!!... The much advertised rooftop terrace was not open despite June/July being peak season.....so yet another reason to feel irritated...
The only real plus point was the saltwater pool which is beautifully located above some truly stunning coastline.
All in all I'd avoid if you want to feel pampered or indeed plan to stay in a four star hotel.More
