We stayed for 1 week at the Riddel Suite! We had a wonderful time. The suite is very well furnished with a great kitchen and 2 very nice bedrooms. There is a fold out bed, but it is pretty thin. Certainly the suite is fine for 6 people. Lisa and Andrea were Fantastic guides. Top notch service and good recommendations. Very attentive and easy to get a hold of, very high level of service. The pool area is nice to relax at, but not super big. We had a cooking class in our suite which was FANTASTIC. All in all a great town and a great place!

Due to construction outside of our hotel room at the Il Gigilio we checked out early and booked two nights here. The largest suite was the only unit available since it was an extremely last minute reservation, it was much too large for my fiancé and I but it was perfect at the same time! Lisa and Andrea were great! They had the room cleaned and ready to go quite quickly. The location was a bit difficult to find on the fly, we ended up parking at the church five minutes away and walking due to the narrow roads and getting stuck a couple times before. Once we arrived they had picture by picture print out directions from satellite shots, our navigation seemed to be a bit confused, those directions came in handy. Lisa gave us some great driving advise to follow while trying to get out of town, she said we always need to go up, sounds simple but it was quite helpful. I really like the location, far enough away that we could really relax but close enough to enjoy the town, five minute drive to the top.

There was on site parking available. Lisa and Andrea booked wine tasting appointments for us and gave us suggestions for dinner. They also had an outlet converter on hand that we were able to borrow.

Our suite was three floors, with a huge kitchen, and great room, there was another entertainment/living room area on the bottom floor as well. The bed was comfortable, and there was an air conditioning wall unit, but not specifically in the bedroom or bathroom. It was hot while we were there and the rooms were cool and comfortable, I also noticed a portable fan in the closet, we didn't end up needing it. The bathroom was large enough for the two of us and the finishings were updated. There wasn't a shower curtain around the shower or enclosure.

The room came equipped with pretty much everything one would need. Towels for the pool, bath towels, shampoo (no conditioner), soap, hair dryer, a fireplace, an outdoor patio with a covered table, there was a washing machine on site and for 5 Euros they provided us with laundry detergent and fabric softener. The kitchen was fully equipped. There was also an electric tea kettle, a Nespresso machine. The fridge was stocked with a couple small bottles of cold water (one still one sparkling), and milk. There was oil and vinegar, spices, a wide selection of tea, coffee, crackers, cookies, Nutella, sliced bread... Upon arrival we were notified there was a selection of wine and Prosecco available for purchase at quite reasonable prices, 5 Euros for a bottle of Prosecco!

The pool was a bit small but there were four lounge chairs to layout on and a cute waterfall. There is also a sauna and a hot tube.

We went to the grocery store on top of the town by the fortress and picked up some food to make a small snack like dinner, and enjoyed our time at the Suite d'Artista!

We have just returned home after a wonderful month travelling in Tuscany. A standout was Suite d'Artista. Our apartment (Di Silvestre) was extremely well appointed with everything we needed. Such a wonderful location, with a large garden and - unheard of within a walled historic village I would expect - a swimming pool. Our hosts Lisa and Andrea were wonderful; nothing was too much trouble, and they gave us excellent information on local restaurants, places of interest, wineries etc. Staying here was the highlight of our trip.

Room Tip: For a couple, the Di Silvestre apartment was perfect, private, close to the pool. All the suites lo...

We are a family of three and spent a week in one of 5 apartments here (Cannavacciuolo). Although small, it was comfortable and well-equipped with a lovely bathroom. The limited indoor space was compensated by having our own private garden and seating area - particularly lovely for breakfast! We weren't sure what the plunge pool would be like and although not big, it is beautiful and perfect for cooling off on hot summer's days. We were also impressed by the washing facilities which are available for use at a small charge and also the free wifi! Perhaps the only drawback was the rather limited parking which was difficult to access (having a small car was a definite benefit). It is only two minutes walk from the centre of this lovely small town with a great choice of restaurants and wonderful views but beware, it's a steep climb up so those of limited mobility should think twice! Lisa and Andrea were extremely helpful and friendly hosts and would happily book restaurants and advise over wine-tasting and days out. We visited other attractive towns in the area but were always glad to have chosen Montalcino as our base. Highly recommended.

We spent nearly a month in Suite d'Artista and are already looking forward to returning. It has a beautiful position, nestled below Montalcino it looking out across the plains below towards the mountains. A calm and peaceful haven, but only a short walk into town, when you feel able to tear yourself away. The apartments all have their own individual personalities and we enjoyed their diverse art works and furnishings. All were very comfortable, airy and perfectly equipped, if you were able to resist dining out. The outstanding concierge service provided by Lisa Jane and Andrea is what makes this accommodation so memorable. They could not have been more welcoming or helpful and their knowledge of not only Montalcino but Tuscany and beyond was outstanding, and they were always happy to share it. Invaluable information, we enjoyed our time so much more because of their suggestions. A heavenly place, delightful people, under "Tuscan Skies" what more could you ask for? Don't hesitate, just go!

Andrea and Lisa were fantastic!! They are very knowledgeable about the region and their tips were excellent overall. They also happened to have great taste, which does help... They are both great, unassuming and efficient. We stayed in a three bedroom, three bathroom split level apartment with a fully equipped kitchen. Even the dishes were very nice, reflecting great attention to detail. The outside is fantastic with a small garden and even a BBQ pit, which we did use once to grill some great fresh Tuscan sausage bought in the weekly market. There was enough room for me to play soccer with my 4-year old daughter, which came very, very handy. We also met some really nice guests staying there! The feel of the place is really amazing, it doesn't really feel like a hotel, more like staying in someone's very luxurious guest house. The location is also excellent: 5 to 10 minute walk to the center of Montalcino. You can either climb some fairly steep steps on a straight line or take the narrow roads in a serpentine ascend. In our 7-day stay, we almost always took the steps. Why? It helped us "deal" with the great Tuscan meals we had every day!! If you like to cook, do not miss the great hole-in-the-wall fresh fish market right next to a gelateria near the center square of Montalcino. They are there on Tuesdays and Fridays and the fish is GREAT (get there early)! It was really great going back every night and saluting the locals as if we had been there forever. I very nice and genuine way to experience Montalcino from within. There are GREAT small towns and borgos within 20 to 40 minutes by car and Lisa and Andrea have a great list of Haziendas (Wineries) and an even greater list of restaurants all around the region. We will be back and three cheers to Andrea and Lisa, great hosts!!!

In the middle of our trip touring Italy, we decided to unwind at this place, before we move on to touring Spain.

I found this place through Airbnb, however, after booking it, I realized they had their own website.

The grounds are beautiful. Well groomed, and an amazing view. The property has a tiny little pool to cool off, but it wasn't heated. We didn't go in, but it was nice to have the option. Any water around is calming.

We stayed in the 2nd suite, and the entrance had a large cactus plant (overgrown aloe plant if you ask me). Note to the owners, it must be groomed - if you're not careful, you could walk into it after a night of drinking all that wine.

The town is extremely quiet - even this is an understatement. Montalcino is a romantic little village, great for baby making, or unwinding by the poolside before you continue your tour of Europe. The village is all uphill and downhill. Wear comfortable shoes to walk.

Andrea and Lisa Jane were amazing. Great service, informative, and are always happy to suggest and help.

To get here: easiest way is if you rent a car and have gps. We didn't. But, it was easy to get here by train. We took a train from Florence (Trenitalia) to Buonconvento station. There was a stop in Siena. Note, these are regional trains and aren't necessarily punctual as the other trains in Europe. Give yourself time to catch the connecting train. Once you get to Buonconvento, cross the street and take Bus #114 to Montalcino. Lisa Jane and Andrea will help out with the rest of the way.

Room Tip: Take a wine tour. Buy some Brunello wine. You will not be disappointed.
