“Great, quaint little place at the top of Montalcino”
Reviewed 1 November 2012

My wife and I went here during the September harvest season and it was a perfect time. This B&B is at the top of Montalcino so it is not for the faint of heart. My wife and I are pretty healthy but it was still a good walk at the end of the night up some stairs.

The room was just right. Small but comfy. The owner gave us the choice of the 2 open rooms and we selected the green room. It worked for us since we were gone all day and just slept there at night.

The breakfast was good for us because we really only drink and espresso and eat a croissant for breakfast.

The parking is down the hill in the main city parking lot, not in front of the building like I thought but it was close enough and made for a beautiful walk down a lovely set of stairs when we went to the car.

The hotel is close to everything so no worries about vicinity. It's pretty quiet at night and the locals around the building are friendly.

Overall a good place for a great price so I recommend it.

Room Tip: Choose one of the 2 rooms upstairs. The downstairs room is next to the kitchen so it might be a lit...

Our four nights at "Il Sogno" left us well rested and in tune with Montalcino. The bed in the Boheme room was the most comfortable we've had in Europe. And we heard not a sound through the night. This B&B is a short walk to everything in the village and to parking, but just enough removed to be quiet and tranquil. Gigiola and Paolo's grasp of English is only slightly better than our pathetic handle on Italian, but they're helpful and earnest. And their recommendation of San Giorgio for dinner led to two memorable meals. We'd like to return.

Simple cozy place furnished with style and taste. We totally loved our room(Aida) and the small table in front of the house where we had a bottle or two. They rent the room for amazing price and if you want to stay in Montalcino, this is the place. There are many wine shops all around Montalcino but I suggest you take a walk down the hill and visit the vineyards for yourself. Prior email reservation is highly recommended. We went to the vineyard Capanna and we hit the jackpot. Their Brunello is one of the best you can get and for a different price than in the town. So good luck and don't miss both the B&B and Capanna vineyard!

A lovely, tastefully decorated, well-appointed gem! There are only 3 bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms, each with a different opera motif - all FABULOUS!. If a tad hard to find because of the quaint streets in this little village, it is well worth it. Price is right, and the accommodations comfortable - not huge rooms but sufficiently large enough for a couple with big luggage, which is what we had. The owners don't speak English, but communicate rather well via e-mail and translation programs. Parking is nearby, and free. Montalcino is the star attraction, and the B&B is very much in keeping with the whole ambience. We will definitely return! Very good value for the price.

This is a lovely small cottage on a small square overlooking the Cathedral. A very good location in a beautiful small Tuscan hill town. The owners live about 15 minutes away so you need to give them notice of when you will arrive. The owners are very friendly and helpful.Parking is very close by foot, but around the houses by car, and the owners will give you a permit for free parking and acsess to the property for loading/unloading. There are 3 rooms in the cottage, all lavishly and lovingly furnished., but if you are lucky you might have the place to yourself. We took the upstairs room which was very comfortable and has surprise staircase to the shower! Breakfast is self-service, mostly pre-packed items, but the landlady brought a lovely cake to supplement this. At 65 euros ( cash only!) I thought it was good value and quite enchanting.

The best B&B I have ever visited. Quiet, peaceful, parking included, great breakfast, a dream, as I said.

My husband and I recently stayed here for a portion of our honeymoon trip. This B&B is located directly in the center of beautiful Montalcino. We had an amazing experience. The innkeepers were so warm and happy to assist us with free parking, as well as restaurant recommendations. The B&B is cute and cozy, with only 3 rooms. We stayed in the beautiful Carmen room, which truly embodied a Tuscan feel.
