This is the definition of amazing! To stay in a converted monastery with modern conveniences and luxuries is truly a great find. We only stayed here for 2 nights and quickly realized we should have devoted more time. There are numerous apartments to choose from, all afford great views and excellent service. We were in the Amiata apartment; large for 2 people, with a well-equipped kitchen, modern bathroom facilities, and extreme cleanliness. The grounds are spectacular for relaxing by the pool, viewing the Tuscan scenery, or enjoying a bottle of wine under the stars at night. This is a quiet place at night, away from all the crowds and tourists. You are close enough to go into Montalcino for a meal, the surrounding villages for exploring, wineries for tasting, or simply relaxing in a chair among vineyards, olive trees, and lavender.
Matteo, nephew of the owners, will give you as much information as you wish to ask for, or let you be on your own. If you want a tour of the wine/oil/grain production process, simply ask and he will make time available. We took a tour with another couple and it was very interesting to see the operational aspects of this small wine production facility. Matteo will also assist you in any way he can with recommendations for restaurants, transportation services, or shipment of any special purchases you may have made during your stay in wine country.
A stay at Quercecchio will be branded in your memory as a special place that you aim to experience as much as possible. You can’t go wrong with staying here and we can’t wait to return. If there is such a place called paradise, this is truly it.
