“so relaxing”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 February 2011

This place was a gem. It looks much better than the pictures on the website. Our one bedroom apartment was quite big and fully equiped. This place was recently renovated and well done. The pool was great and cleaned daily. The couple that are hired to run the hotel are nice, however not Italian but Argentinian, so if you are looking for real locals this is not the place. You can still make this your "under the tuscan sun" experience though as the town is only a 5 minutes drive and very authentic. Local restaurants are quaint and some only speak Italian which is nice. we had our 1&1/2 year old son with us, and he loved the grounds and being able to run around. They provided a crib and highchair.

We planned to spend 5 nights here after busy Florence. We could not have chosen a better location and accomodation. New, spacious, clean, surrounded by vineyards, olive trees and forest. The perfect place to spend time with family and friends.
Situated close to Montalcino (a few minutes by car or bicycle) is the perfect starting point for daily excursions.

My wife and I went to Ireland and Italy for our honeymoon, staying in some great places, including an amazing 5-star hotel, but Le Ragnaie was our favorite stay of the trip. Riccardo, the proprietor, and his staff treated us like family: giving great recommendations in Montalcino, arranging a wine tour at another vineyard, and even assisting us with reservations in other cities that we were visiting afterwards. We really felt at home. Truly excellent service in a very low-key environment.

Our room was a little apartment overlooking the pool, vineyard and Tuscan countryside, equipped with a dining area, living room and full kitchen. It was well appointed while retaining a rustic countryside charm.

Montalcino is a great town with incredible food and wine, and Le Ragnaie is an ideal place to spend some time there. Highly recommended.

They had just finished rebuilding all the rooms at the winery and were justly proud of what they had accomplished. Considereing the fact that we were the first guests in the new accomodations , everything went extremely smooth. Everyone there is friendly and helpful. They were great asisting with restaurant reservations and travel advice.

If peace, quiet and tranquility is what you are looking for and just about 3km from the heart of Montalcino, this is the place to stay.
