Location in the middle of Montalcino which was perfect. Hostesses Lucilla and Robert made us feel at home and had great proposals for eating and where to go. Great breakfast ! Clean and comfortable rooms.

We were the last guests of the season and were treated like royalty. Our room was very comfortable, the bathroom perfect, and breakfast was wonderful. We especially enjoyed chatting with Roberto & Lucilla - they are very well traveled and their B&B reflects their excellent and artistic tastes. It was a truly delightful stay!

Such wonderful hosts, a place well worth visiting. The room was very adequate, clean and comfortable. The breakfast very tasty. Best of all are the hosts. Robert and Lucilla are charming, helpful and delightful. They can offer all sorts of recommendations on where to go and where to eat providing excellent maps and tips. If you are not able to manage stairs this is NOT the place for you. It is two flights up to get into the B&B and then a flight of stairs to get to the room. Pack lightly given that bags need to go up the stairs. Parking is included in the room rate although a walk from the location. It is wonderful to know you have a place to park when returning late after a full day of travel. Montalcino is a great place to visit and this place is highly recommended to make your stay memorable. Good location to get to other Tuscan towns.

Room Tip: Can be noisy especially if there is a concert in the near by plaza.

This is a remarkable place to call home for a few days in the heart of Tuscany
we made Montalcino our base for our driving tour of Tuscany & are so glad we did... The most beaut little town close to lots of other medieval townships so no time wasting getting out of Siena everyday. Roberto & Lucilla have a wonderful place to stay with 5 rooms all ensuited & presented very professionally & with loads of character, immaculate rooms that are large, very clean & beautifully furnished, they are very helpful hosts too giving many tips of places to visit & restaurants & wineries to eat & drink.... Breakfast is superb with a cooked brekkie made to order.
Their place is right in town & once you've unpacked you park your car 2 minutes beautiful walk with lovely views over the town & hills, just outside the ancient walls. Roberto speaks English as well as italian & we found was always happy for a chat if we needed any help. We thoroughly recommend staying here if you have the chance, we stayed 4 nights here & wished we had booked more, as I said we were initially going to base ourselves in Siena but we feel we saved many hours having to get through traffic getting in & out of town by staying right in the heart of where we wanted to be...Tuscany. Montalcino is home to the famous Brunello wine & we enjoyed a bottle or two... 10 out of 10... Molto Bene!

My wife and I booked 9 nights at Palazzina Cesira and loved every minute of it. Robert and Lucilla were fabulous guests. Every morning, Robert would help us plan a new tour of the area. We drove from Rome. I would highly recommend a GPS! Even better is Google maps on your smart phone for directions. Parking is at a very large parking area just opposite the wall surrounding the town. Robert give you a pass for your parking, which is free if you stay at PC. The B&B is an easy walk from the parking place. The B&B is a house that was renovated nicely and was VERY comfortable. We loved it. Lucilla has the touch for decoration. You enter on the ground floor through a really beautiful entry way and then go up one flight of stairs to the entrance to the house. Once inside the door, you are greeted by a long beautifully decorated entry way. Robert was a photographer, among other interesting professions, and has his photos hanging in the hall. They were just delightful to be with and very informative. We would not have gotten as much out of our trip if it had not been for them. They know everything about the area. Robert reminds me a bit of Ernest Hemingway! He has that demeanor of a world traveler. I would highly recommend this place for a pleasant stay in Tuscany. The breakfasts were wonderful.

Room Tip: The rooms that face the garden might be the best for light sleepers as there are rooms that face the...

So this was a last minute booking on our Honeymoon. Our plan for our honeymoon was to Fly into Rome, spend two nights, then spend 4 days on the Amalfi Coast, then take the next 5 days by ear in Tuscany. Rent a car and spend the night in whatever town we felt like spending it in. I called Palazzina a couple days before we were going to arrive and they had a double suite available for $105 (Euros). When we ended up in Montalcino and saw our room, we were blown away! 105 Euros was a STEAL!!!! we paid $130 Euros in Sorrento, $150 Euros in Florence and the rooms were half as nice! we had our own separate entryway with a bathroom, and a very large room with a very comfortable bed. All the beds in Italy are very stiff and this was one of the only ones that was actually very comfortable. The town of Montalcino is amazing! You can walk across it about 15-20 minutes and walk around the outer walls in about 30 minutes. Sits high a top a hilltown and has amazing views of the Tuscany countryside. The food in town is amazing and the Brunello & Rosso di Montalcino's are the best wine in Italy in my opinion.

The B&B itself is the perfect location. 100 ft from the main Piazza, and located 20ft from the main street with great Taverna's, Osteria's and Wine Shops! The town is as quiet as it can be, and after spending a few days on the busy busy busy Amalfi Coast, Montalcino is the answer! The House that Palazzina is located in has frescos and trim dating back hundreds of years and is one of the most beautiful homes I have ever seen! You really feel like you are staying in someone's home in Italy!

However, what really makes this place special is Roberto & Lucilla, the owners! Roberto is from New England, was a photographer in the fashion industry and has had several restaurants in America. He used to visit the area since he was a kid, since his Grandmother was from the area. Together Roberto & Lucilla could open up their own Tour Guide business because they both have such a vast knowledge of the area and culture. Every attraction and eatery they suggested to us was 100% authentic and amazing. They wont send you to any tourist traps! When it comes to food, as both Roberty & Lucilla told us "We really like to cook and eat good food, so we wouldn't recommend any place we wouldn't eat at." The local Taverna they recommended to us, we went to both nights we were in town. (Taverna Grappolo Blu) Check it out!!! Best Truffle Pasta I have ever had!

I also had a run-in with the local Carabieneri (cops) regarding an accident that didnt actually involve myself. Roberto came running up and translated for us and absolutely saved the day! In situations like that, having someone translate for you when English is there first language is the best thing that could have happened to us. Thank you Roberto for that!!!

Besides all this, Montalcino is a very close-knit community. What we noticed, was there weren't many tourist traps, like the other bigger towns. Montalcino, was a place that wanted to showcase all the best things to area had to offer in a 100% authentic and traditional way, and wanted tourists to come back for those things. Not be grabbing them with some cheap-italian tourist trick to get them back. This was why Montalcino, was one of our favorite places we visited in all of Italy. And when you decide to come visit this town, stay at Palazzina Cesira! You're experience will be 10 times better if you do!

Thank you again so much Roberto & Lucilla for making the time of our honeymoon in Montalcino as special as it was! We will be returning very shortly!!!

Room Tip: The Key to this place is the owners. Roberto & Lucilla made the experience in Montalcino!
