“Villa Saladini was a perfect place to stay for visit to the beautiful tuscan countryside and wonderful fl”
Reviewed 29 May 2014 for a stay in May 2014

Perla and Marco were so welcoming, providing us with a lovely meal and wine for our first evening which was very welcome having been travelling since early that day. We loved the villa, countryside and our trips impruneta and florence. We did not want to leave after our six night stay - we felt so relaxed. Thank Perla and Marco

“Wonderful venue in the Tuscan countryside with great hosts”
Reviewed 22 March 2014 for a stay in March 2014

Step back in time while surrounded by the beautiful Tuscan region. Perla and Marco are the consummate hosts and the accommodations are amazing. The location is perfect for visiting Firenze during the day by 40-minute bus ride and having the quiet retreat at the end of the evening with the hosts cooking an authentic dinner using their home-produced olive oil and local wine in the great room of the villa with the roaring fire and surrounded by history and antiques. Impruneta is a beautiful town and easily accessible by a 10-minute walk from the villa. The hosts do everything to make your stay memorable to include coordinating day-visits throughout Tuscany and providing cooking lessons. Perfect vacation totally facilitated by great hosts and a wonderful setting.

“Excellent Value”
Reviewed 18 June 2013 for a stay in May 2013

We stayed at the Villa Saladini for the month of May 2013. We wanted a Base for Florence and to see Central Tuscany.
The day we arrived Marco picked us up in Florence (SM Novella Station) and a 25 minute drive to Impruneta.
Villa Saladini dates back to the 11th century and our first evening Marco prepared a typical Tuscan meal of Rabbit which was delicious. We enjoyed our 4 course meal in the Great Room steeped in historical furnishings.
The Villa is a good size, modern bath room and kitchen, excellent internet connection. Very comfortable king size bed, and adequate cooking for the month. The clothes washer was not that difficult to operate with the help of Perla's notes.
We took day trips to Panzano, Fiesole, Greve in Chianti, San Gimignano, San Casciano Val Di Pesa, Sienna all my public transport. Bus stops at the gate and more frequent service in Impruneta , a 15 minute walk away.
We went to Venice for 2 days and returned to our home away from home. We enjoyed sitting in the garden and walking through the Olive Grove.
Perla & Marco speak very good english and from our first email were very responsive to our needs.
Villa Saladini offers great value and we highly recommend it. The listing is as describes on the internet.

“A Villa in the hills near Florence”

You can imagine yourself in this lovely villa, living in the 14th Century with the Medici and all the excitement of that time. Yet the apartment is totally comfortable and has all the modern amenities needed for a great vacation. The bed and other furniture were very comfortable and the apartment has a kitchenette, dishwasher, and washing machine. Since we didn't want to wait for the clothes to line dry we found an convenient laundromat in town to dry them quickly.
The location is perfect as a jumping off point to visit this area of Tuscany. You can easily get into Florence on the local bus if you don't want to drive and park in the city. And Prato, Lucca, and Pisa are all within easy day trip time. Being at a higher altitude than Florence meant that the weather was much cooler - a great relief on the days that it got hot in Florence. Perla's English is perfect and she and her husband Marco are great hosts. We can't wait to return.

“Charm in a rural garden”

An apartment full of charachter in an old Tuscan villa set in a garden and olive groves above the town of Impruneta.

We were looking for a property for a week's rental near to Florence that could be accessed by public transport and this one definately fitted the bill. The owner arranged to collect us from Florence station and she returned us to the bus station in Impruneta town. This was excellent as although the local buses did mostly stop outside the property the long walk up the drive to the house would have been troublesome if you had a case - we use travel rucsacs so it wouldn't have bothered us. The owner had excellent English and was extremely helpful when we were booking, in transfer arrangements and in general advice when we sought it.

The appartment is perfect for two people or perhaps a couple and two children but with the only toilet being en suite to the main bedroom it may not be suitable for other group arrangements. The main bed was extremely comfortable and the apartment was adequately equipped. We didnt try out the bed settee in he livingroom/dining room/ kitchen as a bed.

It was extremely hot when we were there but the ancient construction of high celings, thick walls and narrow shuttered windows kept the rooms acceptably cool.

Local buses gave good access to Florence and the rail network gave us easy connections to Pisa, Siena and Lucca. Impruneta has adequate shops but we eat out mostly and did little cooking in the apartment although the facilities were adequate for cooking simple meals and the diswasher was a bonus!

The owner offered an excellent value service of cooking a four course evening meal if required. We had this on our first night and it was beautiful food plus a good wine at a very reasonable price.

A great location to chill out and gently visit the main sights of Tuscany for a week.

“Great home base while exploring Florence and Tuscany.”
Reviewed 7 August 2012 for a stay in July 2012

We stayed at the villa for ten days in early July. Marco and Perla were gracious hosts. The apartment was in a traditional 16th century villa that had been updated without taking away from the charm. The apartment was very roomy for a couple. The bathroom was thoroughly modernized, the kitchen/livingroom/dinning area was spacious. High ceilings, Tuscan beams and giant windows and doors. Local bus connections allowed access to central Florence in about 35 minutes. We want to return!
