“"Wonderful in every way"”

We have just arrived back from a group walking holiday based at this hotel. ALL 19 of us could not be more please with everything about this wonderful hotel. It is spotlessly clean, very comfortable beds, with a spacious lounge/ bar area ( not always available in smaller hotels). Very efficient air con, not to cold or noisy. Beautiful bathrooms with clean towels daily

All the staff are very helpful and smile all the time. Excellent choice at breakfast, with freshly squeezed orange juice, cereals, toast, yogurts etc.as well as the usual continental breakfasts. The pool area was again spotless, cleaned daily, with loungers and deck chairs.

We ate at the sister hotel 200m away, great food even though we were on a set menu, couldn't fault it, our waitress Fredrica was amazing always smiling, even when under pressure serving this large group of foreigners who didn't speak much Italian.

Torgiano is not for the larger louts or youngsters looking for night life , but if you want to see the real Umbria stay here, charming town with little to spoil it. From here you can reach Assisi, Perugia, Montefalco and many more beautiful walled towns. So much history to be seen and enjoyed, and then there's the wine...........

Room Tip: Front rooms are quieter. Back rooms have better views over the pool and beyond, but have a road near...

Perfect little hotel on Umbria's strada di vini. We opted for the standard double rooms that were cozy and cheerful, spotlessly clean, with soft sheets and comfortable beds. We had views overlooking the pool and countryside.

The temperatures were in the 90s, so we appreciated the air conditioning (not quite as frigid as we have in the U.S., but definitely did the trick). Enjoyed the pool, free parking and WiFi, and the continental breakfast in the pretty glass-enclosed dining room. And for the price, it was an outstanding bargain.

The hotel staff was excellent, especially the young woman who manages the desk. She was extremely helpful and kind.

Torgiano is well located in Umbria. A short drive to Assisi, Spello, Todi, and other hilltowns. Deruta, famous for it's ceramics, is very nearby. The town itself has a handful of very good restaurants (we especially enjoyed Siro's), as well as the wine museum and cantina.

We basically Stumbled upon this small hotel. A great find and the price was a bargain. Absolutely spotless and charming. The staff was friendly and more than helpful. The young girl in the morning even helped me print out my airline pass. The breakfast one of best-even fresh squeezed orange juice!

Al Grappolo d'Oro is a cosy, small hotel, decorated with local art and pottery, and a lobby that is comfortable and welcoming. My room had every convenience, a marvelous bed, and a spellbinding view of the Umbrian hillside, and the hotel's pool and lovely gardens. The family and staff were so kind and helpful!
Il Ristorante Siro, owned by the same family, is two blocks away. If you are in Torgiano, be sure to dine there.

Room Tip: I don't think you can book a bad room in this hotel!!

We stayed for 4 wonderful nights.

Our room was on the third floor and had a balcony terrace with a wonderful view of the pool and over to Perugia and the mountains beyond.

The room was beautifully furnished with a huge bathroom and air conditioning.

The hotel is small and really well done, lots of interesting sculptures.

Breakfast was plentiful with everything from cereal to fresh cakes to cold meat and cheese.

Would highly recommend to anyone keen to explore Umbria.

My family and I stayed in this hotel during a recent tour of Italy and it was one of the most enjoyable experiences of our trip. This hotel is a real gem set in the midst of the picturesque Umbrian countryside. The hotel itself is a renovated 19th century house and the rooms are beautiful, clean and charming. It is part of a co-operative and so doesn’t have all the facilities you may be used to, but that is definitely not a negative. The aroma of this hotel is worth remarking upon – pleasant scents emanating from every room made for a welcome atmosphere. The pool was beautiful and overlooked the countryside. During our stay, it was generally quiet but the peace was sometimes shattered on rare occasions by local children using the pool facilities.

It did seem as though it was more of a well presented b & b than a hotel, staff were difficult to find at times during the day, but helpful when located.

Breakfast was adequate, with freshly squeezed orange juice being the highlight along with being served in a lovely conservatory alongside the pool area. Staff were very helpful and polite. The lounge area provided a tranquil and refined atmosphere in which to relax. Great care had been taken over the choice of decor and objets d’art on display. Watch out for mosquitoes nabbing you when reading in the very nice reception area. If you stay in this hotel you MUST eat at the co-operative family run restaurant, Siro. The food is utterly fantastic and will provide you with a taste of the best Umbria can offer together with fantastic views over lovely countryside.

This was a welcome surprise in the middle of a very tiring tour of Italy. We managed to relax and unwind in very pleasant surroundings and would hope that the hotel is successful in maintaining this peaceful atmosphere. Highly recommended!
