“Great Hotel to Visit Venice, if you don't like crowds.”
Reviewed 4 June 2014

We stayed at Relais CaSabbioni(May 2013) for 3 nights and we loved all about the hotel. I am not a fan of staying inside Venice paying top dollars for very old small rooms in an all day crowed place.
This was my third trip to Venice and I wanted something more relaxed experience at a comfortable hotel; Relais Ca Sabbioni did more than that for us, this is a great Boutique Hotel with great ambiance and outstanding food. The staff was very helpful and went out of their way to make you feel at home.
It is just a 20-25 minute bus ride from the door of the hotel to Central Venice.

Room Tip: Request for a room on the top floor looking to the back.

A really nice small hotel. Staff very friendly and extremely helpful before and after arrival. Pleasant and well furnished in a modern style throughout, along with a good restaurant recommended for that first night meal.

We stayed three nights. There's a bus stop opposite the hotel with a frequent service into Venice until late evening at a very reasonable price. Nearby (the hotel can tell you where) you can buy a bus pass which is good also for water buses in Venice as well. We also spent a day in Padova (Padua) and called in at Treviso, a detour on the way to the airport. Both well worth a visit too.

Hiring a car from the airport makes sense given the approx Euro50 taxi fare from the airport to the hotel. Don't attempt to drive to Venice though.

All in all, a good base from which to visit Venice

Room Tip: Rooms at the back are quieter

Furthermore we are happy that you appreciated our Restaurant "Antico Ristoro", we recently inaugurated our summer garden, so people can enjoy also the freshness and the beauty of our garden, sitting comfortably under our gazebo.

Stayed here for one night between stays in Central Venice and Jesolo. We were impressed with the hotel interior which was modern and quirky and the staff were very helpful. My only issue with this hotel was the location, it's a good distance from Central Venice and is on a very busy road. The bus to Venice takes a good 30mins through some pretty industrialised areas, I just don't get why people would want to stay here when a nice hotel in Central Venice is of a similar price! Overpriced given it's location.

Dear customer,
Thanks for your comment, all our customers opinions are important to us, even those not positive. Maybe the road in front of our Hotel can be a bit busy at certain times of the day, but you slept in our best, more comfortable and more quiet room.
Since according to your judgment, there are Hotels like ours in terms of quality and price in "Central Venice", we wonder why you didn't aim directly at those Hotels...
We think that the numerous positive comments left by our customers can better describe than us, why choose "Relais Ca' Sabbioni".
In any case we hope to host you again in the future, to make you experience the quality of our services.

Best regards

We recently stayed at this hotel during our visit to Venice. It's a nice little hotel in Ca'Sabbioni which is about a 25minute bus ride from Venice. Conveniently, the bus stop is right outside the hotel. From the airport, take the bus 5 to Venice (last stop) and then take the bus 53 to Padova (pronounced Padua) and tell the driver to drop you at Camping Serenissima. The hotel will be right next to the stop. Our stay here was enjoyable and the staff are warm and helpful. The rooms are clean but the paint on the lower part of the walls could do with a little touching up because of the marks on the wall probably caused by suitcases being dragged against the wall. Frustratingly though there was no iron in the room. When I raised this, it was explained that having an iron in the room was a fire risk because of all the wood. I suspect this is also why there is no kettle or tea and coffee in the rooms as well. The staff were helpful in taking our clothes for ironing at no extra charge though. They also helped us book a last minute tour when we needed one. The breakfast was nice too, typical continental breakfast but they do serve eggs. The best part of our stay was the food at the restaurant. Like it was the best meals we had during our stay. The seafood starter is heavenly and the sea bass main and beef main were just top notch. If you stay here, you must have dinner at the restaurant. All in all, it was an enjoyable stay and we would definitely recommend it.

Holiday started well with the taxi driver at the airport, organised by hotel. Staff charming, helpful, keen to please... very Italian. We stayed a week, most days taking the bus into Venice... we'd return to the hotel late afternoon; not ideal but a lot better than having a poorer hotel in Venice proper. We really enjoyed the large room with its modernist design and breakfasts were very pleasant with fresh cake every morning. Evening meals excellent too. Best holiday we've had for ages!

Dear guest,
Thanks for your kind comment, we are very glad that you enjoyed your stay at Relais Ca' Sabbioni.
Thanks also for your words about our staff and about our kitchen. We work every day to welcome our guests in the better way and it's really a pleasure to be helpful.
About the connections, the handly bus stop located in front of our Hotel allows you to reach Venice in about 20 minutes. Otherwise, as for your first transfer from the airport to us, we can organize a taxi to pick you up in every place you desire, and this service required no extra cost than the normal taxi ride.
With the hope to meet you again in the future.

Best regards

Wow, we stayed at this great hotel from April 24 to 28 and words don't explain the amazing accommodations and the great staff. At breakfast we were served by the very nice lady that made sure we had our coffee and that there was a lot of food always available. I can't say enough positive stuff about ALL of the front desk staff. They were extremely polite, very accommodating and couldn't do enough for you to make you feel like you were at home.

The front desk provided us with the bus schedules and costs for the various bus tickets. They greeted us at every interaction and spoke English very well.

The rooms were perfect, clean and extremely spacious an ultra modern. The hotel is less than 25 minutes from Venice and the bus stop for both going and coming were outside the front door, very convenient.

We will definitely stay here again when in Venice.

I just want to say cudos and Bravo to all the front desk staff, you made our stay in Venice perfect, thank you!

Room Tip: No gym or pool but that was fine, a lot to do in Venice no time for the gym or pool.

Where do we start? Honestly, we have just returned yesterday fro out 4-night stay and myself, my wife and our inquisitive, observant and curious daughter cannot stop raving about how luxurious and inviting and wondrous the Hotel and its amazing kind staff were!

BOOKING: Where to start? Well how about the moment we booked? I just thought I would just use their email - never expecting in my wildest dreams, a reply..let alone a personalised, fast and lovely one from Michele, who's family run the Hotel! He was polite, informative and made us feel immediately at ease with his courteous reply.
As we got closer to our travel date, i emailed a further few times - each time met with an equally prompt and resourceful kind reply from Michele. Such an excellent touch from him and the Hotel.
It meant that we knew we were going to be met by a pre-arranged taxi to bring us to the Hotel, knew where we could change currency and equally knew what the weather would be roughly like the whole trip and what were the local eateries in Oriago, Mestre, where the Hotel was so beautifully situated.

ARRIVAL: Then from the moment we arrived - we were met with Julia - a stunning and lovely member of staff. She couldn't have done more to make us feel weclome: so polite, so helpful and informative. Her English was also very impressive (same for all the staff!!).

ROOM: In a word, Breath-taking: the lounge area was clean, fully-equipped and the double bed had already been fully made. it was spacious, exqisitely-decorated and yet simple and pleasing to the eye. Indeed, we literally gasped, "Wow" the moment the door was opened. They really have spared no expense to make this a sleek, deadly-boutique of a Hotel!

ROOM SERVICE: superb. What more can i say? From a piece of cake to a pot of boiling water to an expresso - all were promptly brought up, with a beautiful smile..and were just what the Doctor ordered.

BREAKFAST: superb, tasty, fresh, plentful and discerning. We could not fault them from their beautiful warmed chocolate croissants to the fresh red ace juice, omelettes to the hot toast and yummy butter..and their range of coffees and teas...really tasty and the frsh moist pastries...yumm yumm!!! The staff couldn't do enough and they were always attentive whilst never ever being over-bearing. Thank you for making our start to the day so tasty and enjoyable.

STAFF: Michele was humble, kind, knowledgeable & always their to offer help and advice and can truly be proud of his family's exquisite conversion of this beautiful 17th-century Villa; Julia - so kind, so nice, no helpful, thank you; Anna - what can we say, stunning in every way you can imagine and just as helpful and wonderful as everyone else there...she was also so very helpful in arranging our smooth return back home..thank you so much.. And the other staff, were equally kind and helpful.

OVERALL VERDICT: there is a direct bus service literally outside the Hotel. It takes about 20-25mins to get into Venice. The free bike hire and jogging routes are so wonderful - we made full use during our short stay. We felt refreshed and happy throughout - a testament to this boutique 11-room wonderful Hotel. Finally, would we stay again? In a flash...
