“Nothing is too much trouble”
Reviewed 26 November 2013

My trip involved making a business presentation. The room was set up perfectly and all my many requests were dealt with without fuss.
Equally with respect to my accommodation nothing was too much trouble. One of the calmest and most efficient front desks I have encountered. Good breakfast and excellent lunch.

Attened a wedding here. Did not stay but have to say the service was geat and the food was lovely. Ample parking which is an added bonus at a function venue. Wedding manager really lended a personal touch when going round to tables which can be sadly lacking these days! Main bar was a little under staffed tho takin 15 mins to get a drink. All in all great day.

A nice friendly hotel, very clean and tidy. The food in the bar was simple but very tasty. The atmosphere was very nice and family orientated, I did find some areas to be a bit dark, and the dark wood panelling did not help. I would stay here again.

A big group of us stayed in the houses for my sisters hen. It was a great start to a great night away. Houses were spacious and were perfect for having a few drinks before we headed into town. The hotel is just outside the town of Dungarvan and is within walking distance. The receptionists gave us a number of a minibus company who bought us into town for next to nothing. The staff were extremely helpful when we needed anything. I would highly reccommend this hotel and Dungarvan for a Hen Party

Best points - value for money, two-night deal and the quality of the food. Early check-in and lovely staff. Availability of kids club and location close to town.
Just so so - decor, crowds of families with kids and very busy breakfast room, pool area.
Not good - room near to reception and talkative night staff. Didn't sleep properly for two nights - even tried sleeping in the bath to get some peace!
All in all - will return but will ask for a room away from reception.

Room Tip: Don't stay close to reception!

This hotel ticked all the boxes for a family of 24 along with the local area. From the welcome at reception to the clean most comfortable rooms to the friendly helpful catering/bar staff you could not find fault. The bar and restaurant food was excellent, great choice and very fairly priced. The location suited young and old, from talking a walk on Clonee Beach, to the Cliff walk in Ardmore, golfing at the Gold Coast to shopping down the town, everyone was catered for. In these times of recession, this hotel has positioned itself very well in suiting the pockets of people, well done. Have not seen a hotel or staff so busy in years, keep it up.

Room Tip: The Ground Floor to the back of the hotel

I stayed at this hotel in September 2013 and found it to be just average. It's in walking distance of Dungarvan, the location is the only good thing about the hotel.

We stayed there mid-week for two nights. Our room was at the very end / back of the hotel. We had to walk through four of five double doors to reach our room. The room was dark and overlooked a 'skip'. The furnishings were dated and it needed a coat of paint at the very least. We asked to change rooms and got a room upstairs which was brighter and closer to the reception. The view was towards the back of the hotel but it was slightly larger, however there was a damp smell from the bathroom..

We had dinner that evening in the hotel and it was busy. We ordered wine but had finished our starter before the wine arrived. The veg and potatoes were lumpy and there was too much oil and butter in the main course. During our meal there were small flies at our table (which were also there during breakfast) and there was an unpleasant/unclean smell generally(carpet?). I ordered 'Praline pie' for dessert but it was actually pecan pie - (someone needs to change the menu). Breakfast was of a similar quality - coffee was terrible. We ordered porridge but when it arrived (late) it was half cooked..

On our last morning we were woken before 7am by the fire alarm which then continued intermittently for the next 15 minutes.

I never manged to go to the pool or the gym so am unable to comment on that service.

Room Tip: Upstairs, try and get a room with a view towards the front of the hotel.
