The historic part of the building likely has rooms that are charming, but the majority of so called "superior" rooms are located to the side of the property with a view of the car park in front of the ferry stop and would equate to a 3 star roadside motel in Australia.
The food was well prepared and tasty but unimaginative. Smoked salmon starter followed by a salmon main. Breakfast was great. The garden out the front is also beautiful but there was not much in the way of service, we had to keep going inside to request more drinks.
The hotel would also benefit by having some equipment for activities, canoes, kayaks bicycles for example.More
