Arrived here today 2nd May, for bank holiday weekend, got it cheap with the Sun newspaper tokens.
Needless to say, we stayed an hour then left and went back home.
Receptionist was lovely.
Chalet 17 was horrific. It had a distinct smell, wondered why all the windows were open in the place on our arrival!
Dampness and mould had been painted over but had started to show through.
I didn't even unpack as I didn't want my clothes or bed linen smelling musty!
Yes, it was self catering, but they didnt even have a toilet roll in the bathroom?!?!?!
I've stayed self catering numerous times abroad and they provide that!
When we left, I handed the key back to receptionist and told her we were returning home, she just smiled and said ok?!?!? Never even asked why?!?!? I think that speaks volumes.
Would I go back? Not in a million years!

We had a cheep deal great we thought when we got there we had the shock of our lives
The pictures they are using must be years old this site was run down there was no sand in the sand pit the pool was a puddle with a green house over it with No life guard
The room was in such a poor condition paint flaking off the wall holes in the door rodent droppings in the kitchen cupboard and to the furniture looked like they had been taken off a 1970 campsite there was mould in most of the rooms the curtains were so old they had holes in them there was no blinds or curtains in the bathroom and to top it off there was blood stains on the bedding

do not listen to the negative reviews, £38.00 for a four night break is a bargain wherever you stay, yes it looks a little tired but with negative reviews it will struggle to improve if nobody comes, the location is well placed for port issac and padstow, the accommodation is a little basic, but don't let that put you off, there was no damp or infestation in our apartment, I think some people expect the ritz, get real. the staff were polite, even to the extent of doing quizzes for us when we were the only people in the entertainment room, overall for the money spent its a bargain.

My Husband and I booked to stay for 4 nights but only stayed 1. The pictures in the brochure must of been taken years ago because they definetly wasn't taken recently. Our chalet smelt damp and musty, in the first hour ,we had killed at least 2 dozen ants crawling everywhere. The windows were rotten and the chalets couldnt of been painted for years. They definetly wasn't cleaned properly there was cobwebs everywhere. I went to reception and asked to see a upgraded room, that was no better, there was bugs running along the window sill and there was dirt and food on the table and they wanted £65 extra for this room !!!!!!! This holiday village should be demolished . The worst place I have ever seen and stayed at. AWFUL. Staff need to be sent on a guest awareness course. Very rude.

Room Tip: Don't go.

Like many others, we took advantage of the sun's £9.50 holidays, & it was great value for money, the unit was a little dated & worn, but it was clean & everything in it worked, & we could take the dog with us! The location was fab, rural but close enough drive to the beach.
The kids loved the place, The swimming pool was free & lovely & warm.
Yes there are a few issues, that could be sorted, our mattress did had more springs than Zebedee, but it was still better than sleeping on the floor!
Top tip, if you are traveling from the west midlands, don't do it for a weekend, you need at least a week.
we will be returning, & I will be happy to stay in the same unit, if they change the mattress!!!

We booked this break as a short stay of which we didn't expect 5* but did expect basic. This site is less than basic, there was damp and mould in our chalet, things were broken. The staff are less than welcoming and if you complain you get asked to leave. Take your cleaning liquids with you and extra blankets as the quilts supplied are old and thin.
