We went during school summer holidays. Children enjoyed it so much. Food is not great in the cafe on 2 floors with the outdoor and indoor play areas. Only hotdogs or pancakes to choose from. Cafe on the very top section next to the Wild West area is better but the best choice of food is at the very bottom of the theme park hill. With comfy chairs, proper coffee, baked potatoes etc. the rides were well suited to our children who are 2, 4 & 6. They all had plenty to go on. The hills are steep but we didn't mind that and we had a pushchair for youngest. Doubt we'd of been able to do as much without a pushchair. Some of the height restrictions were a bit daft for our 6 yr old who needed to be accompanied on a lot of the very young rides. So that's a pain if you're a family of more than 2 adults 2 children or if you go as single parent with more than 1 child. Think the entrance fee is v expensive though. But a good day out with beautiful views of Matlock Bath.

It's been about 10 years since we last visited here, I must say some things have not changed in that time. Parking is interesting as it's up very steep slopes, but you can't change the geography of the place, it's built into the side if the cliffs.

That said we had a great day out girls aged 5 and 7 are at the ideal age for it any older they wold prob get bored, the only things for older ones are the switchback, log flume, dodgems and dino slide (we loved the dino slide). Most rides need an adult to go on with a child so bear that in mind before you go as a lot if rides you'd need one adult per child.
There is a spy zone and a nerf zone too, which costs extra. We did not go in there.

There are no white knuckle rides here - if that's what you're after look elsewhere.
The staff here were all very pleasant, all said hi when you passed them.

This park is very steep although they have installed a travellator now for the largest hill. It would be very hard work with pushchairs or mobility issues.
There's lots of play areas outdoor and soft play. I'd take a picnic though as service isn't that fast in the food outlets.
There were a few wasps about but this time of year but where doesn't get them, with lots of food about?
Some of the figures are looking dated there are areas which need TLC I went to several toilets with doors that did not lock. The toilets in the western adventure area were not nice at all.

My children thoroughly enjoyed it and had a fantastic day and that's what it's all about after all - we would go again.

Good day out with half price entry, think we may have been disappointed if we had paid full entry price as it needs a bit of tlc.. But our son loved that the queues were really quick, he could go on all the rides, we had smiles all day , we took a picnic so didn't try the food. Ideal for young children . Would return .

The park is really good for younger children, set in beautiful countryside on the hill above Matlock Bath. The kids love going and enjoy all the rides. The food is as you would expect, there is plenty of choice of different styles at the different restaurants. Well worth a visit.

Over the years, my wife and I had traipsed over to Gullivers World in Warrington with our eldest son on an almost regular basis. He loves it there but by and large, the attractions are tired and poorly maintained.
However, Gullivers in Matlock Bath is a totally different proposition and although I can't comment on the Milton Keynes counterpart, it's clear having spent a day here where the lion's share of the budget goes.
First off the setting of this theme park is very impressive. High up in the hills and seemingly cut out of the cliff, it's in a beautiful location. However, it can be hard work getting around, especially with a pram, due to some of the steep climbs between rides.
The main thing here (in comparison to Warrington) is that the rides are well maintained and actually work properly. There's a good variety as well and something for everyone; a big rollercoaster and a little one, lots of rides for small children, traditional attractions and some wet rides including a water slide that's a bit on the white knuckle side.
It's all very slick and the queues weren't too bad either. The only gripe is that there isn't a great deal to do if the weather's bad, but all in all, it's a very good theme park for young ones.
