Our Espresso coffee and Teas selection is available throughout service along with menus that reflect the time of day. For those wanting a spot of live music Over the years The Fishpond name has become synonymous with Live Music, our 200 capacity Ballroom regularly hosts live bands and entertainment. To see our full event listing please check our gig guides. And we are also proud of our somewhat undiscovered Raft Restaurant... The Raft restaurant floats neatly on The Fishpond at Matlock Bath and retains many of the historic buildings original features. This restaurant is currently only available for private hire, with bespoke menus and various options. Dont be put off by this, our restaurant is usually free to hire if you're having a meal. We also host special events and themed evenings here, so watch this space. Booked a table for a bar meal as we had tickets to see Justin Moorhouse, comedian. The Fishpond has a ballroom where they run comedy evenings. We were not prepared for the excellent food. Simple Menu, pizza, burgers ect, however, all freshly prepared, well presented and a great price!
The ballroom was candle lit and the entertainment of 4 stand up comedians, £6.00 a ticket was gobsmackingly good. Justin was there to practice his routine prior to the Edinburgh fringe. We are going to try their A La Carte restaurant next time and we can't wait.

Whilst staying in Matlock Bath we visited The Fishpond for drinks and it was a nice friendly bar and had great live music. Unfortunately we had already made dinner reservations elsewhere so didn't dine here but when we are next in Matlock we will definitely visit again.

We "found" this pub last year and had one of the best pub lunches ever, so were keen to visit again when we decided to call at Matlock Bath again. Big mistake. HUGE. It must have changed hands, ethos or something.... gone is the chalk board with the days specials, a very limited choice on the menu, burgers pizza's or fish and chips. I had fish and chips and what a disaster. Hand cut chips? So what? Undercooked, and curiously nearly black. I asked for cod and had I just wanted a piece of steamed cod, fine, but I wanted battered deep fried cop...... it came in a thick pale batter that was inedible, too think and not cooked long enough. Did I complain? Oh yes.... the result? Nothing, not a word. We sat on for another 15 minutes out of curiosity but no-one came to us..... to say Matlock Bath has a chip shop every other door, don't waste your money here.....

Booked to eat whilst staying in Matlock Bath after reading reviews on Trip Advisor.
Had a first class meal with service to match - thanks to Michael and Richard for treating us so well.
The restaurant on the first floor has been very well furnished and beautifully decorated - a nice place to eat.
Was amazed at how little the bill came to - much more expensive here in East Anglia.
"Well Done" and thank you
