We stayed in the Birds Nest for five days recently and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. the apartment has everything you need. It is a very spacious apartment, but cosy at the same time. We took our 2 year old and they had everything we hoped for, cot, high hair, stair gate, etc. All we had to take was food. Matlock Bath is only a short walk away, or you can travel further. While there we walked the Monsal Trail, cycled the Tissington Trail, visited Matlock Farm and travelled to Matlock and Bakewell. There is plenty to do and the apartment has many leaflets and lots of information on what is available in the area. I would definitely recommend this apartment. We are hoping to visit again soon

We stayed in this very comfortable upstairs apartment last September in order to experience the Matlock Illuminations.
It really was a comfortable place to use as a base for our visit and I would recommend it to everybody except for those who have trouble with steep stairs and those without transport to get them from the main road up to where the Bird's Nest is situated.
I sometimes have trouble sleeping in a strange bed but not this time. I slept like the proverbial baby.
I suffer from angina but managed to walk from the site of the illuminations up the hill to the apartment afterwards without too much pain.
My thanks go to the lovely lady and gentleman who made us feel so welcome.

The place is spotless. It is decorated beautifully. It is cosy, pretty and they have thought of everything.

The owners were welcoming, friendly and attentive.

We would definately like to stay again and would definately reccomend it .

From the moment my wife and I stepped into the Bird's Nest apartment, we felt completely at home. During Susan's guided tour, we were instantly impressed by the tastefully furnished rooms, and the atmosphere of calm that is evident throughout the apartment.
Despite staying just across the courtyard, Susan gave us plenty of space to enjoy our stay, yet was always on hand if we needed advice on where-to-go or what-to-see. She was very friendly and approachable... the perfect host.
The apartment is well-equipped and comfortable. The large living room, in particular, is a perfect place to spend a rainy day since it has Sky TV, a games console, DVD player and dozens of movies. And its sofa and chairs have the plumpest cushions I have ever settled into.
There's not a lot to see in Matlock Bath itself, but we could walk from the apartment into the surrounding hills within a few minutes. We also walked to Riber Castle, to Cromford, and to Matlock with relative ease. For those who want to venture further, the train station is a ten minute walk from the apartment. On the wettest day of our holiday, we took a train to Derby to see a movie.
The Fishpond pub is only a five minute walk away, and offers live entertainment in the evenings.
Prior to our stay in the Peak District, I spent a lot of time online, checking out accommodation. I chose The Bird's Nest because it appeared to tick all our boxes... and it certainly didn't disappoint. For comfort, convenience, and value for money, it cannot be faulted. It was simply perfect!

We have stayed in the Birds Nest/Mole End apartments several times. Each time you go, you think that Sue and Abid have thought of everything - but the next time there are even more special touches that weren't there before!
The apartments are perfectly located on the edge of Matlock Bath, the parking (never easy in Matlock) in the beautiful courtyard is very welcome. The accommodation is of the highest possible quality and is beautifully appointed. It's so comfortable and welcoming that you feel you don't want to leave! We found the games room yet another bonus this time. Sue and Abid are on hand to help with any queries or questions (like lending us a map!).
As soon as we leave we are planning our next stay. We cannot recommend the apartments highly enough.

Being regulars in the holiday rental market, we took with us all the everyday requirements normally needed but these were unnecessary, as they were all supplied plus much more.

We were greeted by the lovely Sue on arrival who gave us a detailed tour of the property & told us to call on her whenever required. In addition to the things not normally supplied there were chocolates, wine, bath robes & many other extras to make our stay special.

Unfortunately I had an accident on a day out, just 36 hours before we were due to leave & Sue was very helpful, allowing us to stay on an extra day whilst we made arrangements to get home.

The property was beautiful, the service provided by Sue & her husband was first class & I would suggest anyone thinking of renting out holiday properties should look here for the perfect way to do it.
