“Peaceful seclusion, but close to so many amenities”

The cottage provided everything that we needed for three generations of family. We all appreciated the scenery and the garden (some to sit out in, others to explore, according to age). Shops, park, restaurants and Heights of Abraham were all within walking distance (even for a three-year old), and many other places to visit were only a short drive away. We particularly recommend the Peak District Mining Museum in Matlock Bath, and Haddon Hall.
The only real drawback was the problem of parking nearby, which involved climbing a flight of steps, either up to on-road parking or down to a public car park.
The garden could have been problematic for badly-behaved children.

“Little bit of Heaven”
Reviewed 29 May 2014 for a stay in April 2014

Carol, the owner couldn't have been a better owner if she'd tried nothing was too much trouble for her. The cottage is beautiful, inside & out the only downside for me, was the parking, its a very narrow, steep hill & more often than not I ended up at the bottom of the hill & walking up to the cottage, my thighs benefitted!!! But for anyone elderly or infirm this would be a problem.

All in all I enjoyed 5 weeks stay & discovered some lovely little places.
