My husband and I had a 4 night stay at the Ashdale starting on August 1st. We were made very welcome from the off. Our motorbikes were safely stored at night at the rear of the property and both owners were more than helpful with where we should visit during our stay. We had room 2 which had a very comfortable king sized bed with an ensuite. The cooked breakfast every morning was wonderful and highly recommended! Overall a good trip.... Hot chocolate at the chocolate shop in Matlock bath is a must if you visit :)

Myself and my partner recently stayed and have nothing but good things to say about the guest house itself and Lindy and Baz its owners. The welcome was warm and friendly and the accommodation was clean and comfortable., even having a secure courtyard where we could leave our motorbike. The food was excellent with a wide range of cereals, fruit, fruit juice and yogarts along with homemade bread and jam to accompany the range of traditional English Breakfast items that you are given to choose from. We are very much looking forward to the time when we can visit again and definitely would not hesitate in reccomending Ashdale to anyone wishing to visit Matlock Bath.

Barry & Lindy were both very friendly and helpful throughout our stay, always happy to assist in finding locations of days out and places to visit. Nothing was ever too much trouble. Room was comfortable but could benefit from a bit of D.I.Y. Breakfasts were delicious with as much variety as you ever need. All in all a pleasant stay.

My husband and I spent a night at the Ashdale Guest House and I really wished we had stayed longer. Barry and Lindy were so welcoming and the room we had (number 3) was very spacious and had a lovely view of the river. It was very clean had some lovely period furniture, nice toiletries and an impressive selection of teas, coffee and hot chocolate. Breakfast was delicious and the homemade bread and black currant jam were excellent. We would recommend the Ashdale to everyone and we will definitely return. Thank you for a lovely stay.

I have spent 3 nights in this beautiful B&B, and it felt like going from my home in Malta, to another home in Matlock Bath. I felt very comfortable here and the hosts (Barry and Lindy) were perfect. They helped us getting around the town and giving us advise on the bus rides as well as the best attractions around. The breakfast was really fresh, tasty and generous. We stayed in the biggest room in the house, and we had a beautiful view of the river. The location was in the center of this small town, but it was still very quiet and peaceful.... I would go back in a heartbeat....

We were in Matlock for my sons birthday. Our stay at ashdale was lovely. Barry and Lindy were very welcoming. . We were welcomed as a family. Barry gave me a list of places to eat and whats going on in the area and is where we decided to take the children to Gullivers Kingdom. a double celebration as it was fathers day there was no charge for dads. My children were fussed upon which is always very nice. Whilst having breakfast the kids books toys area came in very handy whilst my husband and finished our wonderful breakfast.
Thank you again

This was one of our stops on the Derwent Valley Heritage Way and we were so glad we'd booked this wonderful Guest House. Arriving somewhat dishevelled, we were warmly welcomed by Barry and Lindy. Nothing was too much trouble - a very friendly couple who had lots of recommendations for us, including the Pie Night taking place that evening! Our room was fantastic - a really good size and very comfortable. The breakfast was one of the best we'd tasted. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and really hope we have the opportunity to return!
