“Lovely B&B”
Reviewed 8 July 2011

We've just returned after two nights stay at this B&B and had a lovely time. I choose Cloonlara after reading the reviews on here and we were not disappointed. I can only echo what's already been said on here, it's a lovely place, with very warm and friendly hosts. It's in a great location close to the seafront, restaurants and pubs. The room had everything we needed and was spotless. I would not hesitate in recommending this B&B as a perfect place to stay.

My partner and I stayed two nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Bernadette and partner were extremely welcoming on arrival and were friendly and warm throughout our stay. The room was lovely and big and extremely clean and well presented. Sea front is a very short walk away so great location with plenty of little shops and cafes in close vicinity. Breakfast was of good quality with plenty of options. We thought the room rate was reasonable for 2 nights.

Would definitely recommend!

Arrived Bank Holiday April 2011 weekend, (couple + adult & special needs adult) and what a treat,
First thing you notice is how clean and tidy the place is, took my shoes of because it was so clean.
The proprietors Brian and Bernadette made us feel like they were in our house not visa versa. Was
Greeted by Bernadette who is charming and lovely and showed us to our spotless rooms with tea making facilities, coffee biscuits & bottles of water.
We were given keys to our rooms and front door (no ringing bells at night because you have your own front door key) then in the morning fabulous hang over cure fried breakfast “magic” then Brian
Advises you of the best places to visit and his knowledge is great. We had a fantastic weekend, bad bit.............whished we stayed longer.

To Brian and Bernadette Cheers hope to see you both soon.

We were struck by the way it was easy to find and well signed posted. The proprietors Bernadette and Brian, were very welcoming and warm. The house was immaculate, but done with love of showing the houses many assets. We were shown our rooms which were just as described on the website, and could not fault the hospitality they shown us, with tea and coffee, biscuits and water all neatly laid out for our use. The nicest part of the holiday was that the only time you saw the proprietors is for breakfast, (which was faultless) with a warm greeting and how and what would you like to eat. The B&B is literately around the corner from the seaside, so the car could rest until we needed to venture out. I do hope that if you need to visit Broadstairs, you could not pick a nicer and cleaner B&B and can see why it has four stars.

Room Tip: There are really nice local restaurants.

this place is a lucky find. a stones throw from the beach front, but away from the noise. contemporary furnishings and very tastfully decorated, this is not kitted out in outdated 70s-80s stuff like so many B&Bs. Brian cooks up an excellent breakfast and even offers smoked salmon for scrambled eggs on rye toast!
all for £50 a night.. much, much nicer than the Fayreness which more expensive and more friendly than the Bay Tree for sure.. highly recommended.

This was my third visit to Clooonlara. It's a small B & B run by Bernie and Brian who as well as being welcoming, quietly ease your stay with details of where to visit and eat. The decor in the rooms is stylish and very ambient helping you to relax from the moment you step through the door. The beds were very comfortable and breakfast was made to order with a good choice on offer. I've stayed at other B +B's and so far none has matched Cloonlara.
I'll be returning soon I hope.
