“Lovely place to stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 May 2013

We spent 3 nights in Cloon Lara and would unhesitatingly recommend it as a great place to stay. Bernadette welcomed us very warmly and gave us plenty of helpful information about the town. We stayed in Lousia room which was very tastefully decorated , spotlessly clean and had a view of the sea. The bed was beautifully comfortable with crisp white cotton sheets. The breakfast was excellent with a wide choice. Cloon Lara is situated within a few minutes walk of the sea front and an easy walk to pubs and restaurants.

We had a lovely, relaxing weekend staying in Cloonlara in Broadstairs. The B&B is beautifully decorated and is spotlessly clean and is in a great location.
We stayed in the Burgundy Room and the room is bright and airy. The hosts are so welcoming and friendly. The breakfast was delicious with lots of choice.
A really lovely stay - highly recommended.

Room Tip: Burgundy Room is lovely.

We have just returned from a brilliant weekend in Broadstairs. The Cloonlara is a wonderful place to stay, close to the sea, shops and restaurants. Bernadette and Brian are such friendly hosts who obviously believe in going that extra mile to ensure that guests' needs are accommodated and this was very much appreciated. Guests are able to use the pretty garden and there is a fridge for chilling drinks, a lovely touch and particularly handy during the sunny spell we were lucky enough to enjoy during our stay.

We stayed in the Louisa Room which is a lovely bright room facing the garden. It is also very quiet and we really slept well, helped by the fact that the bed and linens are of such a good quality. Both the bedroom and the ensuite are tastefully decorated and there was plenty of hot water and lovely fluffy white towels. Everything looks so freshly decorated and is spotlessly clean.

Breakfast was one of the best we have had. OH's full English was delicious as was my veggie option, the scrambled egg is really tasty and every item is perfectly cooked. Breakfast is served in a dining room with a view of the garden. Each table is well spaced out from other guests and, like the bedrooms, it is fresh, bright and spotlessly clean. Each table is laid with good quality cutlery and white table cloths and the teapots don't drip (a pet hate of mine!). It was nice to be able to eat at a more leisurely pace and not feel that we were being rushed out. We found the friendly and professional atmosphere at Cloonlara makes for a very relaxing break and it was lovely being able to take our tea outside and enjoy the early morning sunshine. We will definitely be staying here again and recommending to others.

This is without doubt the nicest B&B we have ever stayed in. I am writing this on our last morning and we don't want to leave! It is more like a hotel. We stayed in the Louisa Room, from which you can see the sea. The room is spotless and has a huge bed and lovely modern bathroom. Lots of wardrobe space too. The decor is very stylish and there are lots of lovely little touches, such as bathrobes in the room and fresh flowers in the foyer every day, plus a selection of interesting books to read. The breakfasts are wonderful and there is a great selection - you can help yourselves to fruit, yogurt and cereals and the cooked options are fresh and tasty. There is plenty of toast and jams alongside your breakfast choice. It's in a great location just around the corner from viking bay and you get a parking space on the driveway, which is one less thing to worry about. The owners Bernadette and Brian are perfect hosts - really friendly and welcoming without being intrusive. They are very knowledgeable about the local area and restaurants and there are lots of leaflets in the foyer to help you find your way around. There is a nice garden which you can use at your leisure too. I really can't say enough good things about the cloonlara, it has given us a really relaxing few days. We will definitely return next year.

We stayed at Cloonlara on 11 April 2013 in the Burgundy Room. This is a large room with TV, en-suite, tea and coffee and a very, very comfortable bed. The quality of the room and the breakfast was top notch. It felt like a real home from home. Cloonlara is spotlessly clean and very welcoming. The breakfasts were excellent. One of us had a full English while the other opted for smoked salmon and scrambled egg. It was one of the best scrambled eggs I've ever tasted. Recommended.

Room Tip: Can't advise on any room other than the Burgundy but I'm sure they are all good.

I would thoroughly recommend this B&B. Lovely, bright, clean room (we had the tulip room). Good shower and high quality towels and bedding. Delicious freshly cooked breakfast. Milk downstairs in a little fridge for you to use for tea and you can put your own drinks in the fridge too. Hosts were very friendly and it is excellent value. If I was being really picky I would say that I would prefer a kingsize bed, but that is really stretching it as I would definitely go back to Cloonlara.

Hi,

Thank you so much for your lovely review which is very much appreciated. Glad you enjoyed your stay with us even if the weather was cold. Broadstairs has so much to offer and it was good you stayed during the Spring Food Fayre and the Beer Festival in Margate.

Hope to see you again soon.
