We love this beach. It is easy to walk to the town ( great for the restless granddad who likes to explore the interesting shops), lovely sand for sandcastle building, a quaint funfair which is ideal for younger children, fab beach huts, and the cove setting makes it great for sea swimming. We also love it for walking on in the winter. A variety of good pubs and restaurants with sea views along the promenade make it worth a day long trip. Don't try and swim in the sea swimming pool though ( it's man made and catches sea water) as it is full of sharp stones that you can't see and the water is cold and dirty. stick to the sea itself.
