“Strange publican made for an uncomfortable experience”

Told in a very "in your face" manner what you can and can't do. Swiftly left after our drink. Pub is in a fantastic location by broadstairs beach.

“Rude abrupt male barman .”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 August 2012

Twice we have visited this pub and on both occasions the checoslovakian ( he told everybody his nationality) barman has been abrupt about the fact that you can't have food after 2.30 !.
We only went there for a drink, there is no need to shout this at customers as they walk through the door.
Had I enquired about food, then I would expect to be told it was too late.
While we were there on the second visit, he shouted at a woman who was taking a plastic glass outside saying that "they are for use by customers only" to which she replied that she was part of a large party who were still eating inside., and could he see them?
She was very embarrased by his rudeness, how could he not have known she was eating in there?
Lack of attention.
I would visit the many other bars in Broadstairs they are much better in my opinion.

“Friendly Summer Pint Pub”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 July 2012

Friendly people, pool table, good drinks and music not too loud. Live music occasionally which is not too bad. Can get very busy on some evenings in Folk Week but a nice place to have a couple of pints on a summer evening.
