Stayed here in January for works diner event locally. I stayed on the night of my 40th birthday and they upgraded me to a lovely room!! So welcoming even when I came down late for breakfast with a hangover! think they felt sorry for me.
Busy too!

Thanks again for the stay!

Hotel was friendly and comfortable. Rooms had recently been refurbished and were excellent value for money. Our room was compact and up several flights of stairs which might not suit some people. There's no lift in the hotel so if you're less keen on stairs ask for a first floor room. There was a little noise outside in the street late evening so maybe better to book a sea view for more peace. The breakfast was excellent quality with a good choice on the menu and service excellent. Parking is a bit of an issue but the pay off is being right in the centre of this lovely seaside town. I would definitely use this hotel again.

Room tip: Go for a sea view.

Neither my wife nor I have been to this part of Kent before. This trip was part birthday get away and part investigation of a corner of England with ancestral connections. The Royal Albion seems to be a Victorian hotel, but has been comfortably modernized, while retaining a lot of the feel of the older establishment. There is a comfortable bar, with a lounge area accessible from the street without going thtough reception. The separate dining room was quiet the night we were there, but the waiter was cheerful & helpful, the service reasonably swift and the food excellent, albeit from a short, out of season menu. The room was large, airy and clean, with a good bathroom and access to a broad balcony overlooking the sea. The hotel also has a large seating area/patio looking out on the bay, with its own stairs to the beach. The only proviso is that wedged between the road (which doesn't cause undue noise) and the clif there is only room for two disabled parking places. The hotel provides a voucher for a nearby car park, not a problem for us, but it might be an issue for people with a lot of luggage. All in all, Broadstairs in general and the Royal Albion in particular made for an excellent find. Both to be recommended

We stayed here for the first time on 1st March and will definitely be back. Reception went out of their way to be helpful and all the staff were polite. We phoned with a few queries beforehand and these were dealt with efficiently and extremely courteously. Our room was perfect and although on the town side suited our needs very well. Breakfast was superb and was only just surpassed by the beautiful view from the verandah. The only thing which could be disappointing, is that we are normally unable to be away more than one night at weekends - and the hotel only usually accept bookings of 2 nights or more at weekends. Luckily, we phoned and they were able to accept one night because a room was left free from a party who left Saturday morning - so it was worth phoning to ask.

Room tip: No lift - so ask for a room on a floor that is suitable for your needs.
