“Nice stay in Broadstairs”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 August 2014

Great location right on seafront. Grand old building constructed in 18th century. Pleasant well appointed airy room. Better to have sea facing room if you can get one! Bed a bit spongy. Lovely big bathroom. Very clean all round. Facilities good. Bar nice, great beer but food a bit pricey and not great value, however there are restaurants just next door and opposite which are very good. Staff friendly and helpful. Great breakfast! Definitely come back again if they have space. Always busy. Room rate high but it's the only proper hotel around, certainly with the fab position!

Room Tip: Sea facing room a must as street noise an issue with town facing rooms. Put in your earplugs if you...

The Albion is a pleasant hotel , well located in the center of the town, with great access to the beach, stayed in the superior. Room top floor . Room was very spacious clean and well stocked with towels. Would certainly go back.
The staff were really pleasant and helpful. The ambience of the hotel was good.

My only slight disappointment was the food, it was average..dining room menu limited although you can ask for the bar menu. Breakfast would benefit from sourcing better quality products .

Room Tip: Would book sea view rooms.

Booked through an online booking service as we fancied a night and day away, since we run our own busy tea room & tea garden on Sheppey- about an hours drive away. We closed up at 4pm, and drove through awful rain to get here. When we arrived, we were given directions and a pass for free parking just down the road, and everything we needed to know about our stay was explained. Our room was bright, modern, and very clean- they had even thoughtfully supplied a fan, as it was very hot. Breakfast was lots of food- cereal, toast cooked to order, a choice of cooked breakfast, cooked fresh, fruit, coffee, tea and fruit juices, as well as pastries! We sat on the beautiful terrace overlooking the sea, in the warm sunshine. I would definitely stay again. I would love a sea view next time.

Stayed for one night on dinner bed and breakfast basis.
The staff were amazing and the food was above expectation. The room we had was facing the road and was noisy as we had to have the windows open as it was a very humid night. I don't blame the hotel for this as everything else was perfect. The terrace at the rear is very pleasant with fine views of the sea. We will return!

I stayed in this hotel for 1 night on a business stopover. The hotel is very friendly and very well appointed and very tastefully decorated. The furniture, fixtures and fitting were of high quality and overall the hotel left me with a good impression. Breakfast was my only meal which was enjoyed on the terrace in the sun with the sound of the waves lapping on the beach, I had to tear myself away.
I was travelling alone so opted for the single room 18 mentioned in an earlier review. Yes it is a very small room overlooking the road, but it is only a single and I don't partake in cat swinging very often! The bathroom was a good size, there was enough storage (for 1 night anyway), the only thing it lacked for me was a desk.
I would look forward to staying in this hotel again, even in room 18, although a sea view room would be a real bonus if you have the option.

Room Tip: South facing rooms face the road.

Booked a room with this hotel had a confirmation from the hotel confirmed the day before arriving. Arrive on the day my room has been cancelled and no rooms available absolutely ruined not only my bday weekend but the wedding I was meant to attend. Will never book with them again or suggest this hotel. Management really unhelpful and extremely clueless. Looking at the hotel not worth the money they were charging either.

The hotel is in a great position and the staff were really nice and helpful.

A colleague booked this hotel for me and I understand room 18 was the last room.

Ok it's not a seaview but not all rooms can have that. The disappointment was the size. Definitely no room to swing a cat. It was depressingly small with no desk for working.

The bed and pillows were like bricks!!

There was a lot of noise from the road as the room was at the front.

All in all a very poor nights sleep.

The bar staff knew how to pour a pont of guiness. The reception staff were really helpful. The restauant staff and quality of food were excellent.
