I popped in with my partner for a dinner after a long day. We had eaten in here a while ago, plus had drinks at another time, hence coming back. We were not disappointed. I chose scallops which were cooked to perfection with a salad to accompany. i also chose chips (the chunky chips cooked suitable for pescatarian). Absolutely delicious food, my partner had the chicken and chips, he said was so juicy and flavoured to eat. We really had a good meal. The lady who served us was fab too and made a point of reassuring me that they have two fryers so no cross contamination and the chef is always good.
We will certainly eat here again.

Been meaning to visit Reef for ages and finally made it and what a lovely place it is.
We got a friendly welcome and could have had all the specials and the rest of the menu too.
Whittled it down to two courses each and what a treat it was. Starters of fresh whitebait and clams. My main was a huge portion of mussels with skinny fries and aioli dip. Wendy had a spicy chicken dish with chunky beef dripping cooked chips and salad.
Washed it down with a cheeky Pinot Grigio.
The specials board changed daily and includes many seafood dishes. Breakfast and lunch also served. Live music, comedy and quizz nights also held.
We’ll be back very soon.

Went in for birthday lunch on the off chance as saw some friends inside. Horrible meal, full of grease, couldn't eat it, only had a couple of mouthfuls, plate taken away without asking if it was alright.

Val: as owner/front of house, I cannot imagine such a meal. And what a shame you did not make comment at time.
Our meals are freshly cooked - and we use a very sparingly amount of oil.

The only dish this may have been is the Grostl .... (our most ordered item on the menu)..in which the chorizo continues to release its natural oils once served.

Our portions sizes can sometimes be too big for certain diners so we would not embarrass them by asking why they haven't finished their meal.

How can any restaurateur address a diner's issue if the diner only chooses to comment via TripAdvisor?
Fortunately - you are in the minority as our next review is a glowing 5 star.

We love this place. The food and beers, especially the cherry beer, are outstanding. We would normally give 5 stars without hesitation, but our last two visits have been a great disappointment as the place has been shut! The first time, a thursday, we realised that they didn't open until 6, which is very unusual these days. We went again last saturday, (5th May), and despite it being a very busy weekend with fab weather, it was closed again. It said on the door that it was open from 12pm, it wasn't! There was a board saying 'live music from 8pm', but we had had enough by then. Disappointing!

Dropped by on a very busy Broadstairs Sunday. The hake and barbecued chicken wings were delicious. They also sell my favourite cider. Very enjoyable.
