We stayed in one of the 4 bedroomed cottages in August. Lovely setting, great views from the cottages, ideal for families with children with the pool and park onsite, plenty of space to play ball games too. Games room could be improved with replacing some of the toys/games/jigsaws as many are missing pieces but this really was the only grumble. The family that run these cottages were very helpful and always available to answer any queries.
Ideally located for visiting Rochester, Canterbury and the seaside towns of whitstable, Herne bay and margate. Shorne woods country park and riverside country park at gillingham also great if you have young children. Would definitely recommend and consider visiting again.
We arrived last week for a week's holiday, we stayed in one of the 4 bedded cottages, we needed the downstairs bedrooms and bathroom for my mum & a lady with mobility issues. Stables cottages fitted the bill perfectly. The games room & swimming pool were loved by my 8 yr old son as was the onsite play park.
Excellent location, so peaceful and lots of wildlife around, beautiful sunsets in the evening. lots to do in the surrounding area,
looking forward to booking again, Kirsty & Debbie very helpful, as were everyone we met there,
many thanks for a lovely holiday
We have just had the most wonderful week renting one of the 4 bedroom cottages. We were a party of 8 (4 adults and 4 children) and there was plenty of space for us all. Lots on cupboard space in each of the bedrooms and wardrobes with lots of hangers! The en-suites and downstairs bathroom were of a high spec and immaculately clean. The power showers both in the cottage and the pool had hot water every time.
The kitchen, although small, was more than adequate and had all the necessary utensils, crockery, glasses etc to make cooking a breeze.
The swimming pool and games room was a real hit with the children as was the climbing frame/swings in the garden.
The view from our lounge window gave a lovely view of the Thames and the sun setting on the water was a sight to behold. The children also love watching the bunnies hooping around first thing.
Thank you so much to Debbie and her family for hosting us during July. We stayed for my partner's birthday and had children from 10 months to 16 years with us. We had a wonderful time away and there was plenty to do for all age groups. The kids (and Andrew!) loved the pool, games room and walking the countryside. The cottages are a home away from home and very comfortable. We wouldn't hesitate to stay again!
These cottages have been refurbished to a very high standard, they are very well equipped, comfortable, spotlessly clean and have lovely uninterrupted views to the Thames where ships are travelling back and forwards. Dogs have their own area close to the cottages and there are lovely walks without the car. The children's play area and leisure facilities are excellent. We have stayed here many times at different times of the year and Rochester is an excellent place to visit, Dickens world and the Chatham Dockyard are great for a day out with excellent restaurants and outlet shopping. Everyone is very helpful and friendly but if you want to be independent it is your choice. We would recommend Stable Cottages to any age group.
We visited in May as a family and had a fabulous time, great location, very family friendly. Owned very welcoming and helpful. Very peaceful and tranquil. The children loved the games room, swimming pool and outside play area. Cottages were very clean and comfortable and had everything you need for your stay. Would love to stay again.
Myself and family, including two grandchildren stayed here for 3 nights. I didn't book until week before, and Kirsty was very helpful. Lovely clean and comfortable accommodation, with loads of outdoor space for grandchildren to run around. We were lucky enough to have the pool to ourselves, and also made use of the games room which is well stocked. Visited Diggerland which is close by, and also the festival at Rochester where we had a lovely meal in the evening (Brettingtons). There's also a nice family pub fairly close to cottages with attractions for children. Enjoyed the complimentary wine and surprise ice-cream van visit! The only downside was a peculiar background noise which may have been a boiler? We noticed at night once the house was quiet and a couple of us did have trouble trying to blot it out, but we are light sleepers. We would definitely book again (and take ear plugs!). Thank you Debbie and Kirsty for making our stay so nice.
