Just had two beautiful nights stay in Cedar House which is located just a short walk from the beautiful historic town centre of Rochester set in a lovely, well-established suburb. Alison and Joe were the 'perfect hosts' in every way - excellent and varied choice of breakfasts, with clean, spacious and well-presented rooms with a good selection of 'coffee & tea' facilities with 'welcome goodies' of fudge & biscuits. Well recommended - we'll be staying here again!

Have just spent 3 nights here and can only reiterate all the other reviews! Joe & Alison are a great couple who make you feel very welcome & nothing is too much trouble. The B&B is situated on a lovely road very handy for exploring. Breakfast was varied and plentiful & the 'Putting Green' room was clean, spacious & had a very good courtesy tray! Alison's homemade biscuits & fudge were a lovely touch!

We had never stayed in a B&B before our visit to Rochester. If they were all like Cedar House we would never stay in an hotel again. After reading recent reviews there is not much more we can add. Alison and Joe were two of the most delightful people you could wish to meet. To be greeted by home made biscuits and tablet in our spotless room made us realise just how lucky we were that our daughter-in-law had booked us in for two nights. Unfortunately we had had to stay in another B&B for the first night as Alison and Joe were full. All I can say is thank goodness we hadn't stayed in Cedar House the first night and had to change for the second and third nights to the other B&B. The bedroom and bathroom were spotless. The breakfast was excellent. What more can I say? If you want a B&B in Rochester this is the one!

Room Tip: We were in the Bellerophon. It was light and airy with a lovely view of the back gardens

The Cedar House is just a short walk from the historic town centre of Rochester in a leafy suburb. The house looks quite grand from the outside and the inside doesn't disappoint. The room we stayed in was well fitted out and had a good view over the garden.
Our hosts were very kind and helpful. We couldn't have asked for a better reception. Breakfast each day was very good.

We will certainly stay here again if we need to go back to Rochester and I do not hesitate in recommending this lovely B&B. I just hope it doesn't get too popular because it's such a lovely place.

There's a maxim that says, if a job is worth doing, it's worth doing well
Joe and Alison Blair's Bed & Breakfast exemplifies that edict.
Nestled high above the tree lined street, behind a manicured lawn, the curved driveway ends at a beautiful, welcoming oak door. The two tiered staircase leads to three inviting doors. The first door opened to our beautiful wallpapered en - suite ,featuring a seven window bay, overlooking much of Rochester. A round multi headed shower complimented the spacious bathroom. Especially appreciated was the wonderful towel warmer.
The mountain of pillows atop the luxurious duvet promised warm, comfy nights.
Tea, coffee, cookies and sweets greet you on the writing desk.
Across the hall, the other guest room featured a golf décor with a double bed and an even larger walk in bath and shower.

Breakfast is the icing on this cake. English breakfast with juices, coffee, tea ,eggs, sausages, black pudding, bacon, home- made bread and assorted preserves.

And if all this doesn't have your head swimming, add in two of the most gracious, charming, accommodating hosts ever to grace a B & B.
Anyone visiting the Rochester area should most definitely plan ahead to spend a few days with Joe and Alison , if for no other reason than to relive an era when class was the norm.

Room Tip: There isn't a bad room at Cedar House.

What a fabulous place. We were there for a work stop off and wished we had more time to stay another night! A gorgeous room, engaging and helpful hosts and the breakfast...best B&B breakfast we have had - and we have had some pretty good ones! Lots of nice touches and attention to detail. This place is spotless and well worth the rate.
First visit to Rochester and Alison&Joe provided plenty of information for us. Easy walk into the pretty town.

Room Tip: We had room to the right at the top of the stairs. It was VERY spacious and quiet. Lovely bed wit...

We have stayed at many B & B's in the UK over the years and Cedar House rates as the one of the best, if not the very best , we have ever visited. From the moment Alison opened the door upon hearing the car arrive, to the moment we left two days later, both her and Joe were the most charming and welcoming hosts. We were provided with a pot of tea and biscuits on arrival (most welcome!). The room was immaculate with a very comfy bed, and the breakfasts to die for (including fresh, warm, home made rolls). The whole ambiance, including cutlery and crockery, was 5 star. Alison even left us a couple of slices of her lovely, freshly baked home made cake in our room when we returned after the first day! If you are looking for somewhere to stay in Rochester then look no further than Cedar House!
