We have just returned from Rochester after a two night stay with two other couples (one of them jackiekc8). Alison and joe were superb hosts. Our room the Temaraire was superb, tastefully decorated, huge and comfortable bed, beautiful and spacious bathroom with excellent shower. The hospitality tray also had lots of home made goodies. Breakfast was just to die for with unbelievable range on offer. This is one of the absolute best Bed & Breakfasts ever!!!

We stayed at Cedar House with 2 other couples for a short break before Christmas. Cedar House has 3 tastefully furnished bedrooms all with en-suite bathrooms and the cleanliness was outstanding. I cannot fault our stay there with Alison and Joe being the perfect hosts. Nothing was too much trouble and the coffee and ecclefechan tarts on arrival were just what was needed. Home made biscuits and sweets in our room were devoured quite happily. Breakfast was fabulous with a wide choice to suit everyone.
It is about a 20 minute walk into Rochester but the bus stop is just at the end of the road if needed.
I would thoroughly recommend Cedar House to anyone as it is probably the best B&B I have ever stayed in and I have stayed in a lot of B&B's throughout the country.

Room Tip: We had a twin bedded room overlooking the very large private garden.

We stayed here recently for one night while shopping in the nearby area. We'd booked the stay on the strength of the reviews on Trip Advisor and were not disappointed. It's a lovely little B&B and Joe and Alison are very welcoming and made us feel at home.

We stayed in the largest of their rooms and has the ensuite; everything was very clean, tidy and the usual selection of drinks in the room. The mints, fudge and biscuits were an added bonus and the bed was large and comfortable.

Breakfast was very tasty and there was a good assortment of choice too.

You could walk into town (about 15 minutes) to the nearby restaurants but it was a bit cold so we drove instead. There's a reasonable choice in the High Street but Italian or Indian are the main choices.

If we go back to the area to stay again we'd definitely consider Cedar House to be our first choice.

Everything about Joe & Alison's B&B is just as you'd want it. I'm not one for leaving reviews, but feel when someone has made such an effort to make sure your stay was as good as they could make it, they deserve the world to know about it!! In a world of slapdash & shoddy...Cedar House is a glowing beacon of excellence!
your home made biscuits were a wonderful breakfast on my "crack of dawn" trip home Alison...
I was concerned that as I live in the middle of nowhere traffic noise may be a concern .. but it was not...... I truly can find no fault with this excellent B&B

I have not stayed in bed and breakfast for many years as I usually stay in a Premier Inn. We are glad that we chose Cedar House for a couple of nights away. The room was tastefully decorated and furnished with excellent tea and coffee facilities including treats of home made fudge and biscuits. We were made to feel very welcome by Alison and Joe. The cooked breakfast was superb. I would highly recommend this lovely b and b.
