Worth visiting on a clear day as you get great views from all sides. About £6 to visit and each room has a descriptive board in it in English and French so no need for a guide. Gift shop on site but no cafe - toilets outside. Allow an hour for a visit.

From the castle grounds there is a lovely view of the cathedral, the river and the castle itself. This is a nice open area for families with young kids to run around in. Go up to the top of the castle and get a lovely 360 degree view of the surrounding area.

It looks super from a distance ,and is great to walk around inside it. You get some super views from inside it. Across the Medway, and of the Rochester bridges. We were there in November ,and it was busy .i bet in the summer it must be packed out with visitors .had a great time there .thanks.

We visited the ruin on a sunny afternoon and did it with an audio guide. The ruin is well conserved and you have some astonishing views of the inside. You should buy the guidebook and visit the ruin with the book at hand, it will give you an idea who people lived in the castle during the medieval period. Also have a look over the Medway river.

Sat in al lovely park area and although in ruins the audio guide helps you to look back at the glory of the castle and its past. Interesting to look at the tower that was rebuilt and the change in its design. You need to be able to climb as there are lots of steps but worth it for the boews of the river and town.
