We arrived in Rochester from the USA after driving from London. We had booked another B&B yet the host never showed up. We called the Whitefields at 6 pm and they were so gracious in letting us stay in their B&B. The two rooms are behind their home are very new, very well equipped with the latest in amenities, and sit in the woods away from the road. Our beds were fantastic and the shower was like looking at the controls of a jet engine! We enjoyed a delicious breakfast and so enjoyed chatting with our hosts. All in all....a wonderful find. Chancing upon this little B&B was a lovely piece of luck. It was chosen at the last minute to be reasonably close to the Dartford crossing (it's around 10 miles) and it was great.

I arrived quite early around 3pm but everything was ready. Very friendly welcome, and I was shown to one of the two (from what I could tell) rooms that they have on offer. Both seem pretty much the same and are located away from the house at the rear.

The room itself is beautifully presented, looking clean and high quality. A large screen TV with Freesat HD is sat on the wall above a desk. The usual chairs, wardrobe and a very comfortable bed are also present. There are tea and coffee making facilities along with a few snacks should you get peckish.

The bathroom is a good size, well presented with a nice powerful double shower. Plenty of complimentary toiletries are here in case you forget anything.

The room itself felt like home from home.

If you want to eat in the evening there is a curry house opposite, a carvery around 2 minutes drive and plenty of places 5 minutes drive away into town.

The breakfast on offer was great. Fruit juice, cereals, fruit etc on offer as well as a wonderfully cooked full english breakfast.

All the above for £45! Fantastic value.

John and Rosemary obviously care about your stay and that makes you want to come back when you leave. And I shall when next in the area. Thank you.

Room Tip: From what I can tell they are the same.

I have been meaning to write this review for a few weeks but life has got very busy since we stayed here.
We stayed here on the 24th May 2013 when visiting knowle house for a wedding.
The couple who run this fantastic little business are extremely friendly and welcoming. The room is fantastic very cozy and private as it is away from the main house, you almost feel you are in a woodland lodge. It has a fantastic and very comfortable large double bed, a large LCD TV and a fantastic bathroom with a double power shower. We could of walked to knowle house if needed but drove as the weather was a bit wet, however we were offered a lift by the owner if we wanted. The next morning we had a fantastic breakfast which really set us up for the day as we had another wedding to attend in Maidstone. This place is a real gem, the welcome and the accommodation were first class. We thoroughly recommend it and would not hesitate to book it again.

Me and my girlfriend stayed with John and Rosemary in June 2013 and they were so welcoming. Our room was lovely and clean and the bathroom facilities were excellent. We were kindly offered a lift by them to the wedding venue we were visiting and our breakfast on Sunday morning was lovely. There was a wide variety of cereals and fruit as well as an English breakfast. I genuinely think this is the best B&B I have stayed in, they are lovely people and we would definitely stay there again.

Had a one night stay here, and it was very nice. The accommodation was clean and very comfy, and we particularly appreciated the extra little touches, like the biscuits,kit-kat and assorted goodies,as well as the nice little toiletries in the en-suite.We could have breakfast at a time to suit us,which was really nice, and the choice of breakfast items was amazing.Mr and Mrs Chestnut go out of their way to make you feel welcome and are are very relaxed in their approach. We will definitely stay again, when we are hoping to visit the area, you could not get better value B&B.

I've stayed here a couple of times & the couple are as charming as their accommodation. I'm sure to return - for work but I will come for leisure too, when I come to visit the area.
The heat in the room can be controlled from the room, wifi's good.
The o2 signal's rubbish because of the trees but that has it advantages !

Room Tip: No need to debate on staying here ...you'll be as pleased as I have been. Both rooms are simila...

Absolutely perfect. We travel all over the country with Mels job and The Chestnuts was by far the best place to stay in the past 8 years, no kidding. Rosemary and John were their to greet us and even offered to unload our car. Our room was warm, tastefully decorated with a King Size bed that we melted into every night, bliss. Even the pillows had a choice of a firm or soft one. The towels are crisp, white and fluffy and are kept on the heated towel rail in the en-suite shower room, with posh shower jets, mmmmnnn, also complimentary toiletries. There were fresh flowers on the windowsill and a yummy selection of biscuits on the tea tray. Rosemary cooks a breakfast to suit your time frame and taste buds. Try her pork and red onion sausages, wow. John and Rosemary took me to Blue Water one day and Chatham the next when my husband was at work. Way over and above their call of duty. They could not help you any more than if they were your family. We were sad to leave this little piece of heaven tucked away in Higham. Well done you two. Knockout B and B. we will definitely stay here again when in Kent, we were even offered sandwiches for our journey home. Bless them. Xxx

Room Tip: You could not do better than this B & B in Higham, KENT. The bedrooms are in an annexe at the bo...
