Having stayed at this B&B a couple of times before, I knew what to expect. A warm and friendly welcome, clean and comfortable room and a good traditional breakfast.
The transport provided to the NEC and back is an added bonus and made the purpose for our visit that much more relaxing with no hassle of parking and queuing.
Louise and John made a real effort to make our stay enjoyable and succeeded.
They are a credit to the hotel industry.

This has been our second stay here in two years. We use it when family accommodation around the corner is over flowing. Love the personal touch of this guest house. I'm used to corporate hotels with my work which I hate. Provide a Lovely breakfast/ Veg option too. Also like having the little fridge On the landing for extras and the honesty pot. We bought some Pringles. Keep up the good work guys. I'd love to try the Jacuzzi room next ttime. Would definatly recommend to family.

I booked at Springfield due to the 10 minutes drive from the NEC. The following night we were staying at a Premier Inn closer to friends so i thought a B&B would be a nice change.
We found it straight away using the post code provided, the town looked pleasant and only 10-15mins or so short walk away. I booked the converted cellar room (mainly because of the bath which was AMAZING) through booking.com for £85 My Boyfriend wasn’t too keen to begin with because we tend to stay in hotels (snob! I obviously didn’t tell him until we got there!) But he soon came round to the idea when he saw we had our own entrance separate to the house. When we arrived we were greeted by Louise with a smile and offered either the room we booked or another, so we had a noisy upstairs which was beautiful, a really lovely house. We decided to stick with the original room and soon got comfy unpacking.
First impressions, the room had character being once a cellar, it did feel cold however we were early and Louise had just put the heating on for us  Everything was presented beautifully and it was a godsend that we both had no signal (T-Mobile) which some people might not like but i absolutely loved it!! There were a few cobwebs in corners but again something you’d expect with the type of room.
For dinner we wanted to venture out, so Louise suggested an Indian called Rajrani which i can hand on heart say it was the best curry i have ever eaten! Prices were excellent and the food was to die for. Highly recommend this!
Throughout the night the ceiling creaked like know bodies business! From breakfast we quickly realised a couple were also staying found the pub across the road and was less than quiet coming back, let’s just say four no’s for Britain’s Got Talent! This obviously isn’t anything to do with John & Louise’s hospitality but if you are a light sleeper maybe not a good idea to stay in the same room as we did. A room in the house would be more suitable.
Breakfast in the morning was lovely and we were looked after brilliantly.
I can’t fault our stay, all i would suggest is if you like home comforts bring your slippers as the bathroom floor is freezing however it is a converted cellar so you would expect that. All in all 9/10, if you want immaculate brand new fittings book a hotel. If you like a country style cottage with added character and a warm welcoming then Springfield Guest house is the place.

Room Tip: For a hotel feel book a room in the house. Cellar room is quirky just remember your slippers :-)

Hi Amyjo Thank you for taking the time to write us such a great review, and we very much appreciate it.. We will always try and offer a choice of rooms if we possibly can, but glad you enjoyed your stay in our converted cellar. Apologies for the disturbance from the room above you, it is sometimes quite hard in our old house to stop the boards creaking. So pleased you enjoyed the breakfast, and we very much hope next time you around here we will be able to welcome you back to Springfield House. Kind regards Louise and John

We are now regular visitors when exhibiting at the NEC and the rooms, the welcome and service from John and Louise and the breakfasts are always first class. They will even provide a packed lunch which is much better quality and price than the NEC offerings. Already booked for next March but will try and get back sooner if we can.

We read the Tripadvisor reviews: hence the choice - and we were not disappointed. We stayed in room #1, bright and airy with a huge ultra-comfortable bed. Good shower and, as everyone has said a very good breakfast cooked freshly at a time of our choosing. John and Louise could not have been friendlier and are very keen to please.

Thoroughly recommended.

I stayed here regularly over a period of 6 months whilst working on a contract nearby.
The accommodation is first rate, with each room having it's own character and layout.
John and Louise are perfect hosts, always pleasant and helpful, with a fair appetite for a bit of banter also. A lot of comments have already heaped praise on the breakfasts, so I have no need to repeat, but I will - the breakfasts are great
My work up there has finished now so I shall no longer be visiting, but would recommend it to anyone.

Room Tip: Number 4 has the best shower...

Hi Jan. Thank you for your kind comments about Springfield House, and we have been delighted to welcome you here during your work contract, and sorry it has come to and end. Hopefully we will see you again before too long, perhaps when you visit the NEC for a show or concert, or fly from Birmingham Airport. In the meantime, we wish you every success with your next project. Kind regards John & Louise
