...... However bit off the mark. Firstly the staff were excellent to be fair, friendly, chatty, helpful couldn't fault them, even the bouncers were decent blokes and not the grunting cavemen you often find in small towns, pleasant and helpful as well. Find it a bit strange I had to take my Ted baker flat cap off to enter to get to my room, obviously maybe a chav element to get rid of. The annex room was pretty decent, modern bathroom, very comfy bed, no problem with noise until recycling time at silly o clock on Sunday morning. Couldn't get the TV to work. Woke up to a giant spider on my face, on close inspection the room was crawling with spindly beasties! I don't mind spiders but they were everywhere, even the shower. Shame as otherwise the room was good value.

Busy pub, which is nice to see. Rooms look ok at first glance... but unfinished. No Wi-Fi, TV didn't come on after being off at plug (had to climb up to switch on myself and stand on bed to use remote), had to keep blind closed in bathroom as clear glass, several spiders in room (maybe clean a bit more/dusty cobweb), no mirror in bedroom, no towel hooks or rails... Only minor issues but as so many it does have an impact!

I stayed here for one night in a single room which had obviously recently been renovated which was great however there where some items missing from the room such as no mirror in the bedroom, consequently I couldn't do my hair in the morning, no hairdryer, no towel rail in the bathroom which you really need if staying for more than one night and the final missing item free wifi.
The staff where friendly and the public areas appeared to also haven been renovated there was some noise from the bar but it quickly disappeared after 1030pm
The location is fab for the NEC, airport and the motorway network I would definitely stay again as it was good value

Having spent some time drinking with the locals I learnt this was a drinkers pub recently refurbished.
Bar areas nice gone for a modern but traditional look.
I took the best room with a bath the “honeymoon suite” was nice after the novelty wore off I noticed the snags.
Only the road facing windows opened and was difficult to close.
The toilets next to a large window so you need to keep the blind closed and can not air it out.
No hooks on doors no luggage stand and no bin.
Was comfy and a adequate stay given its price is reasonable.
The bar opens at 9am so you do get some characters in there.
On an evening it is very lively and loud lots of youngsters come to party there is two seating areas outside a ground level and a terrace that gets busy and lively didn’t affect my sleep as I was at the side but imagine it would.
It doesn’t serve food but plenty around.
Price of a budget hotel but a better stay.
