Visited this cosy little restaurant as a couple on a Friday evening. The service was excellent, the staff very friendly. The meal came to £40 for the both of us for 2 starters, 2 mains, a rice and 2 beers which isn't unusual but sadly not very good value for money considering the quality of the food.
The chicken satay skewers were very dry and tough with not enough peanut sauce, however the prawn toast was actually very good and the hand crafted carrot very cute.
The lemon chicken main was ok but very sweet, which when you consider how large the portion size was, it was quite difficult to finish. The pork with cashews main however was very nice, the cashews nice and crunchy. We also decided to order the pineapple fried rice as it is one of their 'signature dishes' which was actually very nice but far too expensive at £8 and far too large a portion to finish even between the two of us.
We also asked for some table water which was served in a jug with two old, recycled and well worn half pint glasses which looked a bit out of place in a restaurant that serves food at fairly high prices.
Overall we were a bit disappointed with the quality of the food which was pretty average and poor value for money and, despite the wonderful service, unfortunately we won't be returning.
