“Lovely Friendly Hotel”
Reviewed 13 November 2008

We stayed in this hotel in July 08 with our two children who were competing in the National Finals in the Antrim Forum. We also had a few other rooms booked for the rest of the Athletes from our local club. The hotel was packed with competitors from all over the the 32 counties. We could not have been more impressed how the management and staff went out of their way to facilitate everyone. This hotel has a restaurant and also provides bar food. We had booked the restaurant however when we saw how lively the bar was we changed our mind. The food was exactly what we wanted after a full day of athlecics in terrible weather, no gourmet but decent honest food. The bar staff were really friendly and the kitchen facilitated where possible everyone’s palate. Once the children were all tucked up for the night there was no ease off on the service, the bar was buzzin until the last adult was left standing (if that’s what you wanted). We were booked into a smoking room when we arrived however the Manager on duty quickly sorted this out and provided us with a non-smoking room as we had requested this when booking – only a small issue. Thanks to all the staff at the Comfort Inn, Antrim.

Any accommodation that has to use plug in air fresheners in the bedrooms might arouse some suspicion. This, however, was my only major crib and I enjoyed a good stay at this hotel where the staff are a major asset.
The Comfort hotel while a little off the beaten path is still only 2 miles from Antriim town and just about quarter mile to the popular Junction One outlet centre and also Kilbegs business park.
The reception is warm and welcoming, and reception staff very friendly and helpful.
My bedroom was standard Comfort Inn, spacious, very clean and everything you need for a comfortable stay. The bathroom too is spacious and yes, it does contain a bath with shower. The plug in air freshener was not pleasant (quite strong) so I just unplugged it. I just wonder why it's needed?
Dinner was eaten that evening in the bar and there was a very good menu selection very reasonably priced and very good table service. The bar menu closes at 9pm. The bar was quite full with a nice atmosphere.
I had a very comfortable sleep in a quiet room which backed onto a quiet country road at the rear.

Breakfast in the morning was standard buffet style with quite a good selection of hot and cold breakfast food. Breakfast is served from 7am to 10am.

The hotel is very popular for meetings and other events and all meeting rooms were booked and in use when I was there.

What stood out for me most during my stay was the professional and courteous staff. Nice to know that good service is still a priority in the hospitality industry.

Stayed for four nights. Had 87 year old father with mobility and sight problems. Phoned hotel to book rooms and had exceptionally helpful staff who recommended a room with disabled facility. This hotel was a real gem. All the staff were so helpful efficient and friendly. The manager was so obviously present and lead by example. His staff were well trained and the hotel ran with a quiet confident efficiency. I have not encountered such consistency of "good service" in my native Scotland. This hotel is an absolute "gem".It has a consistent buzz as obviously many companies and organisations use it for day meetings and conferences. The staff absorb everything.
The restaurant is o.k. Don't expect gourmet food.We found after two days, the menu was a bit repetitive, however the food was well cooked and presented.
This hotel is SO comfortable including the beds! We were a party of four and we would all definitely stay there again. The access to the motorway allowed us to go North or South with ease.
This hotel is well run and has an obvious local support. It displays "Hospitality" in the true sense.

  • Liked — comfortable and easy access
  • Disliked — the rooms on the ground floor were polluted along the corridor by the designated smoking rooms. All rooms should be non smoking ,similar to non smoking policy for public enclosed areas like resturaunts and bars.

I stayed here quite a while ago for a friends wedding reception. My boyfriend and I had no intention of staying until we got to the hotel and tried to decide which one of us was to drive home. We made an enquiry at the reception and they had one room available. It was at a very reasonable price and breakfast was included. The room was lovely and had everything you would need. The staff were lovely and did everything they could to help. I would definitely return!

I had a nice couple of nights at this hotel, convenient for the airport but a bit of a trek into Belfast city centre.

Very clean and well laid out. My room looked out over fields and was quiet. The public spaces were fairly classy altough there were weddings on both nights so the lobby and bar etc were busy.

I ate from room service both nights and the food was very good. I did think a five pound flat charge for delivery was really steep though as room service times are limited to the restaurant opening times so no extra work was involved.

Staff were friendly and welcoming.
