“A great and very hospitable stay”
Reviewed 3 August 2014 via mobile

Stayed here after a day out to Belfast Zoo, arrived on the late Stena ferry, welcome was warm and inviting even late at night! Room was very comfortable, our son gave it his seal of approval! Everything you need for a good night's rest. Breakfast the next morning was super, tasty and served with care. Continental or full Scottish, it was very satisfying. Will definitely be back when we visit Belfast again. Kind regards to our hosts, thanks for everything.

We stayed here to catch the early morning Ferry to Larne. This is not a large B&B but is ideally located for the Ferry Terminlal. We had the only non en suite room with a shared Bathroom but this was perfectly fine, the room was clean and comfortable, We had a drink in the Bar, ate a really nice Meal in the Restaurant and free WIFI is available. The owners were friendly and helpful all in all an enjoyable stay and thoroughly recommended.

The Merchants House is well placed on the beautiful waterfront of Loch Ryan just 1 mile from the Stena ferry terminal. The owners (Alan & Fiona) could not have been better hosts. I had a good nights craic with them, had a great nights sleep in the cosy bedroom and a wonderful full Scottish breakfast! Great value too. Well worth a visit ;D

Well, what can we say about the Merchants House, summed up… fantastic little gem of a place.

We arrived prior to our sailing to Ireland the next morning for our biking holiday. The proprietors Alan and Fiona were great, nothing was too much trouble. Very hospitable and very down to earth honest people. The Merchants House itself was very comfortable, clean and had character.

They also looked after some friends of ours who were staying elsewhere. A few quite drinks turned in a to a real good evening with plenty of laughter and atmosphere.

The breakfast next day was awesome, I didn’t know whether to eat it or climb it!! That should be called “The Biker Breakfast”, as it sets you up for the day.

Can’t recommend this place highly enough, especially if you’re a biker. It would be my first point of contact if staying in the area again, great find.

Really lovely cosy bed & breakfast. Very welcoming couple, who are very attentive and happy to help in any way! Me and my partner stayed along with our 2 year old little boy we felt very relaxed and had a lovely family on suite. Breakfast was very good accommodating our son well too. The bed & breakfast is perfectly situated for the ferry port and very easy to find.

Stayed one night after arriving off the last ferry. Made extremely welcome by very friendly, smiley hosts. My room was really comfortable and the shower was powerful and hot - could have stayed in there all night. Had a fantastic sleep. I only had a continental breakfast, however the full Scottish looked very substantial and others said it was lovely.
Would definitely recommend.
