“A lovely place to stay and eat!”
Reviewed 1 July 2012

We stayed overnight at Smiddy's House and Russell's Restaurant and were delighted by Robert's warm welcome and the cosy room which greeted us - they had thought of every detail! Glen's wonderful evening meal was outstanding, elegantly presented with excellent attention to detail and just the right amount to allow full enjoyment of every delicious course. It was great!

“Supurb food”
Reviewed 26 June 2012

Michelin star worthy!
Good choise of wines, and good advice from the owner.
The menu is varied, with fish meat and vegetarian dishes. A nice fresh sorbet appetiser in between the courses.
We very much liked the option of retiring to the comfortable lounge to enjoy a coffee with extras

“late arrival guest”
Reviewed 20 June 2012

I arrived at this highland gem around 1030pm, after a long 3 days in the hills.I was dirty and tired and wanted a warm shower and comfy bed after 3 nights under canvas.
I expected a quick hello then to be shown to my room, what i received was a warm welcome followed by genuine customer service.I was shown to a fabulous room which was cosy and warm which had been quickly prepared with lights on.I was then offered a beverage and the offer of a sandwich.I gratefully accepted and what i got was a lovely triple decker cheese and pickle sandwich with believe it or not a bowl of hot chips. What a joy.I had a great sleep then i was given a beautifully prepared scottish breakfast and home made fresh croissant.
This place is value for money with a genuine warm welcome and i would definately recommend and will be back for a weekend break with my wife.I have stayed in large 4 and 5 star multi-national hotels who could learn a thing or two from the owners

“My Special Treat of the month”
Reviewed 17 June 2012

Once a month I have to work away from home and stay overnight. Robert and Glenn, from Russell's Restaurant with rooms is the perfect destination. The food is amazing, with the Duck to be highly recommended. The service is impeccable, the atmosphere is so relaxed with delightful music in the background and candles and fresh flowers on the table. The rooms are of 5 star standard and the breafast so yummy it keeps you going for the rest of the day. If Fort William is your destination then drive that extra 10 minutes to experience an evening of luxury.
