“Well pleased!”
Reviewed 27 April 2014

We visited this pub whilst doing the Great Glen Way and were more than pleased with the meal. All clearly cooked to order the portions and flavours were excellent and staff and service top class. Well worth a visit but you will need to book ahead as it is small and popular.

“Very quirky & resourceful establishment”
Reviewed 3 April 2014

I called in here as party of a party of 12 on a tour of Western Scotland. Unfortunately just after we arrived here there was a power cut however the very resourceful staff managed to feed all 12 of us sandwiches and a pasta dish, we even managed to get a cup of tea made.

Staff were very resourceful in coping with a catastrophe and entertaining 12 hungry travellers.

The setting is lovely - on a sunny day you can sit on the deck and on colder days (such as when we visited) there is a lovely fire inside and lots of quirky ornaments to amuse you.

I would highly recommend a visit here - very good value food and a great welcome await in beautiful surroundings.

“Above and Beyond”
Reviewed 15 January 2014

Had another memorable evening at the Eagle on Saturday night with Will and Victoria really going above and beyond what is expected or required to provide amazing hospitality and service when we were the only couple there and it would have been easier for them to close up and relax. Not many people are even prepared to open at this time of year, especially in an out-of-the-way location, but this young couple have gone that extra mile to provide a warm and inviting welcome, prepare wonderful food on spec and give a unique experience that deserves to be rewarded with more visitors and grateful customers. Tasty bar meals are nearly always available but Will can offer first class food with locally-sourced produce if meals are booked in advance. I urge everyone to help support their endeavours!

“Totally Unique”
Reviewed 2 November 2013

We have been here before, and there's no place like it.

Visited for a drink one afternoon and we could not drag ourselves away so stayed for food (noticed a few others doing the same thing!). We just had a chips and pie basket meal which is unbelievable value at less than £7 each. Young chef and his partner were very friendly, and food was great.

Second time we had a meal which you have to pre-order, haggis neeps and tatties (with a shot of whiskey), and a haggis stuffed chicken breast. Again the meals were lovely, and they have a good selection of beers.

The atmosphere is great, staff friendly, nice to see such a wide range of people and some lively debate around the bar.

“Great little pub”
Reviewed 17 October 2013

Good selection of beer (and whiskey)- bar food is available and an additional menu is also available there though needs to be pre ordered – really enjoyed our time on the barge and chatting with the owner and other visitors.
