“Great hospitality”

Great hospitality, arranged for a late arrival due to driving up late from down South. Very nice clean rooms, with clean and tidy bathroom. Great breakfast, especially the black pudding and great value for our stay.

Everything in the guest house was lovely, including the well behaved cat! The shower was new and spotlessly clean, equipped with nice toiletries. We had a bit of trouble with the heat because it kept turning itself off, but it was still comfortably warm with the fluffy duvet. By the way, the manager was very responsive to all our needs. Nice place for a quiet night's sleep!

We stayed at Coire Glas Guest House for only one night, checking in after dinner, and leaving right after breakfast, so we were not there that long. The room was nice, if a bit small, but the bathroom was top notch. Bed was good and comfy. Breakfast was good and hearty, and made to order.
My husband left his jacket in the armoire, which we realized after we had moved on to our next destination. The following day, he realized his passport was in that jacket. I had already called Gill to ask her to mail it to us back in the US. But when I called back to tell her we had to come back that day to fetch it and why, she tried to figure out a way to save us the trip (2.5 hour drive). As there was no time for any other options, we made the drive. Gill was there to meet us, and we laughed over the whole experience. It gave us a chance to drive through the stunning scenery again. Would recommend staying with Gill and Ian.

I booked the Coire Glas for a group of six walkers and was really impressed by the quality of service. When setting off from our walk in Fort William I rang ahead and our hosts asked where we would like to eat that evening and then booked a table for us at a convenient time.
When we arrived soaking wet they offered to take our wet outer garments and boots straight to the drying room and having got changed took the rest of our gear and washed and dried them. All ready on our return from the pub that evening. If only I could get this level of service at home!

I stayed here recently and was welcomed by the owner, Ian i think was his name. He was welcoming and showed us round, i ve seen some criticism of Jill but we didnt meet her until the morning and i have to say she was very nice to us and gave us a nice farewell.

The room was ok but no TV, there is a communal lounge with a tv and loads books to read though. The bed was clean and comfy but the bathroom was spot on. I stayed in 5 hotels all over Scotland this week and this was the best, great shower/shower cubicle.

Downside was the place smelled strongly of cat which i do not like but at the end of the day this place is the owners home so i can put up with this. There is a large garden and seating area and a decent view out front, there is also parking round the back.

The breakfast was the best meal i had on my 5 day trip and the salmon, scrambled egg and muffin were spot on. There is also the usual cereal, toast, fruit, yogurt, cooked breakfast etc.

Be aware, there isnt much to do in Spean Bridge at night and there are only a couple of eating places, hotels and shops. That said, this means it is a quiet place and the Coire Glas and local area suited me perfectly. All in all money well spent and id stay again if i return to Spean Bridge.

We booked one triple and one twin room for two nights for the Paddlefest weekend. We emailed before hand as we knew we would be arriving late on the Friday night and recieved a polite email back.

We arrived about 8.30pm, Gill greeted us and showed us to our triple room, as the rest of our group were arriving much later she turned on their heater, left their key in the room and left us to wait for them. We filled out the breakfast forms for everyone and popped them onto the breakfast table.

The triple room contained 3 single beds, built in wardrobe with hanging space and shelves, one bedside cabinet, chair and a kettle with coffee, tea, milk and biscuits. The on suite shower room had warm towel rail and there was 2 towels and one face cloth for each person. The shower did not drain very well in this room so showers were short but we all managed to shower.

The twin room next door had a much larger shower which worked perfectly well. The room contained twin beds, wardrobe, bedside cabinet, chair and the same tea/coffee facilities.

Both rooms were on the ground floor with a huge bonus of a wall heater that guests could switch on themself if needed.

On the Saturday night the guys came off the water very late and arrived back after dark with a friend who was looking to stay, Gill booked him in swiftly and then helped us to hang all our gear in the drying room ----- there was alot to dry and it took about 30mins with soaking wet, muddy river gear!! Gill also at 9.45 popped washing into the machine and tubble dryer for one of the guys. A big "thankyou" as it was very late.

Breakfast can be booked for either 8am or 8.30. ........ Both mornings the breakfast was very, very good and there was plenty of it! Nothing but praise as it set the paddlers up for the day!
We saw Ian at breakfast and he was friendly and chatty.

We would certainly return to Coire Glas when paddling over a weekend in that area.

When you choose to run a Guest House in “the outdoor capital of the UK”, you should expect your clientele to include adventurous people who do challenging activities in areas which don’t have cellphone coverage. So the proprietor of Coire Glas really shouldn’t greet three cold, hungry, shivering hillwalkers by scolding them for being behind schedule and failing to answer her phone calls. We had a prepaid booking, we arrived at a reasonable hour (9.45 pm) and we spent 15 minutes standing in your reception area trying to figure out how to contact you while we were shivering in our wet clothes. We behaved reasonably and your greeting fully deserved a one-star review. I gave you two stars because the bed was actually quite comfortable. If you don’t want to cater for hillwalkers, you should you move your business to Norfolk.
