We spent 2 nights at Letterfinlay Lodge Hotel at the begining of the month and it was great. The staff are very friendly and nothing is a bother to them (especially Del) I gave him a run for his money and he matched me everytime...! We had a family room but there was only 2 of us so it was great I had my own dressing room for the weekend! the only issue i had was that the roof above the showere was leaking slightly and as it was February the weather was very wet so every now and then you would get a drip of cold water on you while in the shower. Views are fantastice from the dining room and the only thing I would say that's missing is a Spa. i know they are going to be building soon so maybe this would be an idea to include in their plans. will definately be back.

Room Tip: Rooms11 or 12 (12 being the family room)

Thank you for the very nice review and its great to get such positive feedback . The leak in the roof was caused by a blocked gutter so thank you for bringing this to our attention and it has now been fixed. kind regards

There have been really mixed reviews about Letterfinlay Lodge Hotel so I was quite sceptical about what we would find when we arrived and I just want to say now that I will be really honest in this review as I always am.

I shall start by saying that I think with some little extras and care this hotel could easily be a four star hotel. The staff on arrival, at Breakfast and at Dinner were always very polite, helpful and friendly. You can not fault the staff at all.

The location is stunning, I just wish the weather was warmer so we could have enjoyed the balcony in front of the hotel. We were in the Lochy Suite and had our own private balcony which again would be great in the summer months but we chose to visit in February with snow and rain a plenty. Not the hotels fault obviously.

The suite was large with a lovely bathroom with double sinks which is always nice. Large powerful shower and tiled throughout. It has a very cosy and romantic bedroom with amazing views out over the loch and mountain, great to wake up to looking out to that view. Lots of storage space and a large flat screen television on the wall. There was also a separate lounge area with another flat screen television and two leather sofas. There were Tea/Coffee facilities available as well. To make the room just that wee bit better it would have been great to have some toiletries in the bathroom, maybe a couple of packaged biscuits with the tea and coffee and a DVD player in either the Lounge area or bedroom. I think the other rooms do have DVD players. There was no Telephone in the room so if we had a question we had to go outside as the Lochy suite has its own entrance and round to the other side of the hotel to speak to someone, and that wasn't always great in the weather we were having.

We had breakfast both mornings and Dinner one night and the food was amazing. I was not expecting that quality at all. It really has to be tasted to be believed. I had a cooked breakfast one morning and I have never had a cooked breakfast that doesn't taste greasy or dripping in oil, that is not the case here, cooked to perfection. It was because of the breakfasts that we decided to eat at the hotel that evening. Again we were not to be disappointed, they have great chefs at this hotel. The restaurant was busy both in the morning and evenings and this did not affect the quality of the food or service. We heard people stating that they were not residents of the hotel in the restaurant in the evening which shows how good the food must be if locals go there to eat.

People have left mixed reviews about this hotel but I honestly couldn't fault it, apart from the little extras that I would have liked but it didn't ruin the experience any. Would i recommend this hotel - Yes. Will I return to this Hotel - Yes I would, hopefully this summer it would be great to go and see the scenery again when it is warmer and of course to sample the lovely food again.

I must state that please do not be put off by the negative comments. It really is a lovely hotel run by charming staff. Well done to the owners and management.

Room Tip: I can only recommend the Lochy suite as that was all we saw. It does have a private balcony which is...

We had a perfect stay. Couldn't fault anything and the menu was amazing quality and value. Scenery as expected - awesome. Only downside for our party is that we went by train and you really need a car to make the most of the area.

We stayed in this hotel last summer and had a great time. We would definately go back. The room was lovely and the lounge and bar was great, with really friendly service from the two guys behind the bar. In fact, all the staff were lovely the whole time we were there.

Outside the bar there is a deck overlooking the loch and the views are just stunning. You can easily while away the hours just sitting with a drink taking in the scenery.

We had our two young kids with us and while there isn't a lot specifically for children to do, they were really happy taking a walk down to the shore of the loch and playing there for a while.

We had breakfast and dinner there and the food was a great. The only issue we had was that the heating was stuck on in our room so it got really overheated at night, but they came and fixed that for us very quickly once we brought it to their attention.

We'd definately stop there again with the kids, although this would be a really lovely little bolt-hole for a couple.
