“Excellent stay, breathtaking location!”
Reviewed 14 March 2014

Stayed here from Friday 7th March till Sunday 9th March on a deal through Wowcher. Wouldn't have know about this place otherwise but what a find.

Staff were excellent. Very friendly and always making sure you were looked after.

Food was great too. Really enjoyed breakfast and dinner both nights. Must mention the pint of San Miguel I had. It was fantastic. Was really surprised at how good it was.

We stayed in the Lochy Suite which was furbished excellently and had an absolutely breathtaking view out of the bedroom window. Weather wasn't good enough for us to enjoy the use of the private balcony but I'm sure we will make use of that on our next visit.

Close enough to travel to Fort William and the Nevis Range to the south and Loch Ness and Inverness to the north, which we done on both the Saturday and Sunday en-route home.

Would really recommend this place. Had a great time there and will defo be booking again!

We visited through an itison deal and found it to be great value for money. We arrived a little late in the afternoon and enquired after some sandwiches (as well as our cream tea!). I've stayed at other places where appears to be a problem but not here. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating (especially Katya (apologies if wrong spelling!)) and the sandwiches and cream tea were delicious. The food overall was excellent but the best thing of all is the setting. We were lucky enough to be there when there was still some snow on the mountain tops - absolutely stunning. Would definitely consider returning during the summer months.

Just home from a lovely weekend at Letterfinlay Lodge Hotel. The location is beautiful and the view we had from our room was magnificent. The room was very clean and comfortable. We were very glad of the effective heating system on a cold weekend. The food was excellent and the staff were very helpful and pleasant. We would definitely recommend Letterfinlay Lodge Hotel, and we hope to return there.

Room Tip: We were in room 8 and the view was wonderful.

We recently had our wedding reception at Letterfinlay it was a winter fairy tale! Everything went perfect and the staff were wonderful. All our guests enjoyed staying and visiting the lodge it was very cosy on a frosty day with the open fire. Food was to a high standard both dinner and breakfast. It was a stunning day so we had photos on the private beach area which was very special with the amazing surrounding scenery. We would highly recommend checking this out at as wedding venue. We could not of asked for more. Lindsay who works there even decorated our suite for us arriving at end of night which was a beautiful touch. Many thanks again to all the team we will be back.

We booked 1 night through the itison website with the deal of a room for the night, a cream tea on arrival and a breakfast in the morning. Upon arrival we were not offered the said cream tea. Upon mentioning this to the owner in the morning his reply was that the Manager told him that upon arrival he told myself and my partner to go downstairs once we were settled. The manager in fact did not say anything of the sort which another couple had also confirmed that they were not offered it either. But the owner said he couldn't do anything because the manager wasn't in until 2! Check out is at 11! So yip I was not happy about that at all.

The bedroom was a tad smaller than I thought it would have been but that was definitely not a problem considering the view was gorgeous. The walls however are rather thin.

At night we went downstairs for a drink and a game of pool but there were no balls on the table. Asked the manager if he had any but his reply was there was a wedding on the previous Saturday and they must have taken them but he hadn't even noticed. We stayed on the Wednesday night. Anyway they were found after another guest pulled out a part of the table to find all the balls inside the table. Surely thats not the first time thats happened.

Asked the manager where the Osprey bird nest was located as in their welcome information it states that it is close to the hotel... He didn't know. Shouldn't really be in the info if nobody even knows where it is. But then he didn't remember we were staying there after we left an hour and when we came back I spoke to the manager who looked confused and asked if we were staying there. I'd understand that if the hotel was busy but it wasn't.

The breakfast was pretty greasy, could have swam in the pool of grease on my mushroom so yeah I didn't eat that, my partner wasn't keen either. Toast and a yogurt it was.

Minus that the area is quiet, set in a gorgeous area, was warm when we got there including the heating and lamps being on in the room for our arrival. The seating areas downstairs we're comfy and relaxing. The woman that was working there (didn't catch her name) was very polite, helpful and made sure we always had a drink.

It is Not on!!!! unfortunately we have to put up with scamsters from time to time and because we refused to give you alcohol instead of your FREE cream tea ! you made various threats and complaints ! (no Gin in your G&T after you drank it) your antics at checkout were embarrassing , We all got the impression that you have vast experience in this department. Our breakfasts are fantastic, fresh and well prepared ! so we will take your comments in context ! Your overall performance as a guest was poor and we do hope that you improve this when you visit other establishments .
Ospreys are protected and we are very reluctant to tell anybody we don't know or trust the location of our nearby nest site . This is in the ospreys best interest . Kind regards

We spent 2 nights at Letterfinlay Lodge Hotel at the begining of the month and it was great. The staff are very friendly and nothing is a bother to them (especially Del) I gave him a run for his money and he matched me everytime...! We had a family room but there was only 2 of us so it was great I had my own dressing room for the weekend! the only issue i had was that the roof above the showere was leaking slightly and as it was February the weather was very wet so every now and then you would get a drip of cold water on you while in the shower. Views are fantastice from the dining room and the only thing I would say that's missing is a Spa. i know they are going to be building soon so maybe this would be an idea to include in their plans. will definately be back.

Room Tip: Rooms11 or 12 (12 being the family room)

Thank you for the very nice review and its great to get such positive feedback . The leak in the roof was caused by a blocked gutter so thank you for bringing this to our attention and it has now been fixed. kind regards
