Overlooking the highlands where the original Commandos trained this monument is now a testament to them and all who have served in the conflicts since the 2nd World War.

You just feel so proud of what this country achieved in the war.

Those brave Commando's - i definitely advise a trip to the monument, you will be very moved by this spectacle.

As the memorial stands on raised ground at the edge of an open plain, you get a magnificent view from here of the surrounding hills.

The back of The Ben and Grey Corries are laid out to your left. To your right you can see towards Loch Arkaig and Knoydart. Behind you look in towards Loch Laggan and the Creag Meagaidh nature reserve.

The memorial itself is of historical interest and the statuary is a cut above the average for such pieces.

The commando monument above Spean Bridge has got to be be on your agenda of places to stop ,to either just briefly have a few moments reflection,or as we did read what these guys did and gave away....life itself..... !!!!!!.It is set in a beautiful open area and the views are spectacular from up there on a clear day.
I defy any man to come away from there without a tear in his eye.
