A very moving memorial with spectacular views of the area. Lots of private memorials to individuals written for everyone to read. Interesting and emotional.

“A stunning location”
Reviewed 10 July 2014

Situated about 2 miles outside Spean Bridge in a stunning location, the memorial is dedicated to the Commandos, as their training bases were situated close by. Unveiled in 1952, it features three commandos looking towards the Nevis range of mountains..

“A must see when visiting the Highlands”
Reviewed 8 July 2014

So sad to see how many youngsters gave their life for our freedom. And all these commandos were good people.

“Stunning location and moving place”
Reviewed 7 July 2014 via mobile

The commando monument is located is a beautiful, area looking out to the Nevis range. We have been for the last 8 years in a row and always make time to go and pay our respect to the fallen.

If you ever get a chance to go on Remembrance Sunday it is a very moving experience indeed and doing the silence makes you realise how lucky we all are to have those who fight for their country.

There is a large car park but please remember not to take your dog up to the monument as this is not allowed.

Night visits to the memorial are also very interesting as it is lit up.

Make sure you take time to look at all the messages left by people for the fallen and respect the place as this is truly an amazing place.
