Reviewed 4 May 2014 via mobile

Only stayed one night but owners were very friendly and helpful and the room with an en-suite was clean and comfortable. The full cooked breakfast was lovelyy with fresh eggs, locally sourced bacon and sausages and home-made jam and marmalade. Highly recommended.

We stayed in one of the four cottages over four nights whilst exploring Cardiff and the local area. John was on hand to welcome us on arrival with a friendly smile and some great local knowledge, then left us to settle in and relax. It was lovely to walk into the warmth of the cottage after a long journey and see how cosy and spotlessly clean everything was. So nice to find a dog friendly cottage which didn't charge extra just because we brought our dog with us! The wood burner was easy to use and there were plenty of free logs just outside the door - a nice way to relax and unwind, just staring at the flames and listening to them crackle. Our bed was super snuggly and comfortable and the en-suite had a bath and electric shower with a plentiful supply of hot water.
The kitchen, although small, contained everything you could need - oven/hob/grill, microwave, fridge/freezer and even a washer/dryer - I don't know how they managed to fit it all in! It was a nice touch that John popped in one evening just to ask what we thought of the cottage and if we could suggest any improvements - good to know that they actually care! A good base from which to explore the area - Cardiff was lovely, as was Castell Coch and St Fagan's museum of Welsh Life. Plenty of eating out establishments within easy reach, too - we'd recommend the Bryn Owain a couple of miles the other side of Cowbridge for good food at reasonable prices served in a pleasant atmosphere.

Beautiful B&B in a lovely location. We received a warm welcome when arriving at the cottage. Our room was spotless and had traditional furnishings. The breakfast was top notch- locally sourced food. It felt like we were staying with friends as we felt so welcome. We stayed here due to it being very close to Llandow Circuit and would definitely stay here again! I would recommend this B&B to anyone!

I stayed here with my two sons and my mother for a Doctor Who themed Cardiff break. The rooms and welcome we received were wonderful, it really felt very very welcoming. The breakfast we were treated to every morning was also excellent and very nicely cooked. Will definitely return soon!

Room Tip: Only three rooms, all very nice.

Gorgeous farmhouse in a beautiful location, we received a warm welcome and our room was spotless and very well maintained, as was the dining area - the breakfast was lovely and John had sourced a lot of local food. We had never stayed in a farmhouse b+b before, this definitely didn't disappoint - We would highly recommend it!

We have just returned from a week away at Moorshead Cottages. A great base for exploring the Vale of Glamorgan, the cottage provides comfortable accommodation, as well a comfy double bed - thank heavens of memory foam!

I stayed here for one night whilst visiting relatives in Cowbridge - it is very rural and yet so close to Cowbridge - ideal spot. We had a very warm welcome from John who also cooked a delicious breakfast the next morning. Our room was very nice - the bed was really comfy and the shower was also good. The only downside was it was a bit cold but then we did visit on a very cold day! The other problem was my mother and son stayed in the twin room which we were surprised to find was not ensuite - I just assumed all the rooms were en suite, and having checked on the website again just now I can't see any mention of the bathrooms actually! Would certainly stay again though if the occasion arose.
