We very much enjoyed our recent stay at the Sweet Dreams Guesthouse in New Denver. After a long hard bicycle ride, we were welcomed warmly by Lorie and shown to our bright cheerful room with private bath (room 2). The windows overlooked the lake just across the road and the meadow at the side of the house. A good hot shower revived us, and we had time for a walk through the small pleasant town of New Denver, before dinner in the dining room at the guesthouse. Dinner featured salmon and locally grown produce—Lorie and Jeff care about the food they serve and buy locally as much as possible. There are not many evening dining options in the area, and without a car, we were delighted to be able to have a good dinner (with wine) right at Sweet Dreams.
Breakfast is served between 8 and 10 and provided us with a good start for another day of cycling—fresh fruit, cereal, yogurt, omelet and toast. Jeff is a very gracious host, and as he served breakfast, he gave us lots of useful and interesting information. We would heartily recommend Sweet Dreams Guesthouse whether you're a (tired, sweaty) cyclist or not.
