We walked out the door, into the surrounding orchards, picked a few black currents, available to all who stay here, and walked over to our out-of-door breakfast to be treated to expert cooking including a French omelette and plenty of tea, coffee, decaf and lovely potatoes and classic tomatoes. Bliss. We were informed that tomorrow's breakfast would be French toast! Bliss number two.

The crickets, pet cats (trained not to kill animals they capture), birds, neighbour's dogs, and the general orchard ambience are irresistible. I wanted to stay all day at the property, but the great book store in Penticton and the wineries all around Oliver and surrounding municipalities were calling.

Jim and Gudrun are a couple who have lived several lifetime's full of adventures and their B&B is a crowing achievement. They love people, so this is a treat to anyone who stays here. AND if you don't like a lot of chat, they get the idea and do not bother your country revery. Plus, they price your stay on the low side to always keep the B&B full.

Green surrounds us as we walk all morning. The only man-made sound is a tractor now and then.
Hardly any cars. Table grapes, peaches ripening, plums, apples, and black currents which are so delicious that it breaks my culinary heart to be leaving after three days. While staying here we are planning our return.

Off to another joyful breakfast in the garden . . . . and a few laughs and warming to the morning sun.

Room Tip: Two rooms available, one with an additional bedroom with two single beds.

RD6 B&B is located a few minutes out of Oliver. It's nestled in a small orchard and felt like a real retreat from urban life. The hosts were welcoming and had a lot of useful tips on making the most out of our short visit to the region. The room had personality you just don't get in hotels and we were very grateful for air-conditioning on a day that got up to 39 degrees. The french toast for breakfast on the patio was fantastic.

Hello. My family (all adults & small dogs) rented both rooms for two nights (July 2014). The hosts are very social and inviting upon arrival and at breakfast. Unless you wish otherwise, they leave you alone the rest of the time which was nice. Breakfast is homemade and very tasty and is served outside weather permitting. The house has been upgraded with solar hot water/hydro and geothermal heating/ air conditioning. Many, many wineries within a very short driving distance. Make sure you visit the Silver Sage winery.

Room Tip: There are two rooms: 1 unit with a king bed and huge bathroom. The 2nd unit had pullout queen in...

Thanks for a wonderful stay. Where else would you be able to pick cherries right off the tree. Spacious and clean living space. Jim & Gudrun were great story tellers and the breakfasts were tasty especially the homemade yogurt and fruit composts. Will definitely be back.

Gudrun and Jim are wonderful and interesting hosts. We (3 people) had the studio with the extra bedroom. The place was spotless and roomy with comfortable beds. Breakfast was excellent and different each day. We love the southern Okanagan and the place is wonderfully situated in the working heart of the region. We were 5 minutes drive from two very good winery restaurants and wineries ( Hester Creek and Tinhorn Creek). We will definitely plan to stay there again on our next trip to the region.

Jim and Gudrun have a beautiful home, the rooms were spacious, clean and amazingly comfortable. The conversations were fun, delightful and enlightening. Breakfast was superb. Fresh, homemade, done from scratch and upon request. We were there for four nights and had a different breakfast each day (omelette, French toast, poached eggs with English muffin and crepes). Homemade yogurt everyday with all the fixings to add. Just a lovely couple and a warm and welcoming place to stay. We would definitely come back. Trung and Julie

What a great B & B. One of the best we have ever stayed in throughout the world. Jim and Gudrun are fantastic hosts and a really interesting couple. The rooms are just excellent and spacious. This is also a great base for Birdwatching in the Okanagan Valley with many birds literally on the doorstep.

If you are looking for the best in B&B this is it.
