My wife and I stayed here for four nights for our honeymoon and it was worth every penny. The views from the dining area and room were simply spectacular - a truly beautiful vista, which was made all the better by incredible wildlife. We enjoyed nothing better than sipping wine on the deck spotting seals in the water. This setting was matched by the impeccable service. From the moment we set foot on the resort we were greeted and looked after to the highest standard throughout our entire stay until our departure - thanks to all the staff they deserve real praise for their efforts. The food was amazing and locally sourced. We enjoyed the whole experience - from our Eco tour ride with killer whales to the thoughtful gifts provided each day. A stunning location with outstanding service.

3 nights at the Sonora Resort was perfect. It is totally unpretentious, however the food & service are wonderful. We went on a fantastic 4 hour fishing trip which was amazing. We caught 8 salmon, of which 5 were thrown back as we reached our quota! Trekking in the rain forest was a real adventure & so many activities to choose from if you so desire. Rooms beautifully appointed with exceptional views. We arrived by water taxi & left by helicopter. What a way to travel. We look forward to returning.

We had an absolute wonderful stay at Sonora. Wether it's rainy or sunny, there's plenty things to do, in or outside. Staff is pleasant and friendly, food is excellent and abundant, rooms are fantastic, location is fabulous. Although it's a high-end accomodation, the atmosphere is relaxed. You don't have to bring a dress or a jacket for dinner and we like that it's all so casual, though stylish as well. We would love to coke back again and certainly recommand a 3 to 5 night stay here, wether as a couple or as a family.

The hotel is beautiful. Breathtaking views (from every room, I think).

For families, especially extended family, I would easily rate this a 5/5. We saw many families there and would love to share it with ours. It's also a great place for anyone looking to do some fishing, kayaking or nature exploration.

For a quiet couples vacation it maybe isn't quite as good. We were getting away, just the two of us, and participated in their Romance Package and it wasn't quite as romantic as we'd hoped. For example, on the romance cruise we weren't able to sit close enough to each other to hold hands. There isn't room service (so no cuddly breakfast in bed).

Don't get me wrong though, it was still an amazing experience -- nature, adventure, great food and good service... just not necessarily "romantic" -- if you're looking for a chance to explore BC's pristine, beautiful nature I definitely recommend. If you're looking for a quiet chance to "reconnect" it might not be the right choice for you.

Oh! And the grounds are pristine!! The gardener(s) on staff should be very proud of everything they've accomplished.

Room Tip: Higher floors, I think, are better (we were on the top floor of three). Some of the foliage (trees and whatnot) may obstruct the views on the lower floors though they've designed it so that everyone faces out towards the ocean channel so there aren't really any "bad" views.

My wife and I spent three incredible nights last weekend, and from the moment we were greeted off the float plane to the departing wave good bye from the dock, we felt as though our every need was attended to, but without feeling the slightest bit encroached upon. The beauty of the area can be seen in the photos, and we indeed saw as much as possible, including an incredible time with Aaron watching a pod of Orcas, but the highlight of the resort is the service. Everyone anticipates your needs, and does whatever they can to keep you comfortable. We even had the theater to ourselves one night, and they made and delivered popcorn to us! I also want to call out the spa. My wife and I both had 1/2 day spa retreats, and we both finished feeling rejuvenated and refreshed. One of our best experiences ever. Overall just an incredibly, beautiful and relaxing (but yet still somehow activity filled) long weekend. Cant wait to get back!
