“A wonderful meal”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 October 2013

This is a family owned and operated restaurant. The service is great, the view over the landing and out into either St. Mary's Bay or the Bay of Fundy is also great. The food? Well, it was one of the best meals we had while we were there and we had a lot of good ones. It is a must.

“Great Night Out”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 October 2013

Seven of us dined at Lavena's on September 29th. We ordered everything from fish to liver and onions, and it was all delicious. I thinks they do a great job in offering a bit of everything on the menu to satisfy most people. I find it to be priced quite reasonably. I shared a piece of peanut butter pie, yummy! Hope to come back again. Well done!!

“Highly recommended”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 October 2013

An exceptional place to eat at a reasonable price.

No, it isn't fancy inside, very plain, but well decorated and nice layout, lots of tables looking out on the water.

Service very friendly but still efficient and professional.

Nice variety to the menu; great seafood chowder and other soups - I had the Asian chicken soup, very spicy - and the salads are exceptionally good.

Everything is fresh.

Good selection of Nova Scotia and other Canadian beers, served very cold in nice beer glasses - unlike some other places, which are inclined to serve beer in water/milk glasses, which is rather off-putting.

We had an excellent meal there, wife and I, for $53, including one drink each, tax, but not tip.

You can't do better than Lavena's in this part of Nova Scotia.

“Excellent home cooking.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 September 2013 via mobile

Went there after a day whale watching and we we starving. Started with great flaky biscuits and progressed to wonderful haddock dinner and smothered chicken. Both were generous servings with fresh veggies and potatoes. The desserts- chocolate cake and lemon cream pie came with lots of real whipped cream. We came away satisfied and impressed with the qualityof the food and the friendly service.
